Let’s just add a fucking concrete slob port to one of the most gorgeous towns of the world.
Apple Music radio feels disrespectful at times
Preface: it's not 100% serious post. I'm not that easily offended. However, I find it just dumb.
So... Any who comes from outside of US and biggest countries feel like the Apple Music radio is straight up disrespectful of your culture?
Spotify radio is really good for Polish music. It understands nuance and how various music movements correspond with each other. It gets that I may want to hear some doomer music after playing sung poetry, or that I play party all-timer from 90s and offers me more.
Apple Music radio on the other hand... Would throw in anything that is Polish. Recently, I was listening to house interpretations of music from 90s and it started playing me... 30s songs from WW1. Then some absolutely random bullshit. The only thing that connected all songs was language.
If you don't understand, why it feels disrespectful... It's like you played Horse With No Name and radio recommended you random country from 2010s. Because you know, Murica, freedom and horses. That's how it felt - I'm Polish so let's hit me with "szlagier" from the first war.
I'm actually thinking of changing streaming services because it's almost unlistenable.
Do you have similar problems in your non-English speaking countries?
Just discovered Fatima Yamaha. Anyone has more of this addictive stuff?
Yes, it’s from that set on Tomorrowland, I heard the song on reels to be precise. Sign of times.
Anyway I’m enchanted - his tracks, especially „What’s a girl to do” sound like electronic music of its time but magically sprinkled with trap personality. The use of synths and choirs remind me of Hudson Mohawke production a lot. And the sensitivity and tempo of Sebastian Tellier.
Anyway do you have more of similar stuff? How would you even call this genre?
Im far away from the scenes, I research everything online. Just FYI
trying to research ANYTHING on Google in 2026 starter pack
The plane in Kate Ryan music video was supposed to be called „RyanAir” but they had to scrap that
This theme of the music video doesn’t make sense otherwise. The whole thing was supposed to be a joke with her surname and „RyanAir”, but deep in the production pipeline the lawyers probably told her to change that to some neutral sounding bullshit „Kate Ryan Airlines”. So they left the music video but it makes less sense.
I'm drunk and my chud got engaged on the mountain 😭 made me emotional
but ngl, it was weird that Solene was the one to propose and the game defaulted to a man proposing.....
Big Tobacco is trying to make - or already made - smoking cigarettes a meme or cool thing again
I scroll Instagram reels to relax before bed. My feed consists mostly of emotional or cool stuff. Some art too. Lately I've been seeing lots of "organic" reels on instagram that promote smoking as something cool.
Examples:
- constant resurfacing of "500 cigarettes" clip from Star Trek
- travel reels with "cigarettes doesn't count in Italy", "this mountain + a cigarette"
- anime shitposts with loser archetypes smoking
- videos of "cool Chinese cigarettes us can only dream of obtaining"
- "relatable" posts like "imagine a cigarette and yap here"
- jokes about Europeans smoking cigarettes for breakfast
I noticed that my perception of cigarettes has shifted to lukewarm from seeing all of this. Like it's a PR coordinated campaign that try to change a view of smoking from one pack a day to treat, something rare but certain; something that won't hurt you in small amounts and is kinda forbidden, relaxing, cool.
It would be very handy for Big Tobacco. E-cigarettes and vapes are on the decline -- more and more governments ban single use, they are seen as cancerous, not cool, childish.
Maybe I'm crazy but can most of this be intentional astroturfing?
I love relationship cards gameplay because it feels like this
Professionals (not ordinary people) working for billionaires and corporations are just as responsible as the billionaires and corporations
Seriously. You can call Amazon, Meta and other places didn't built themselves. Behind every single thing on these platforms are people. These are professionals who wanted more money than from ethical job. Amazon addictive UI was designed by UX designer who was "just doing interesting projects with good budget that wasn't possible anywhere else". Bullshit Amazon warehouse guidelines were written by PEOPLE who saw other people as statistic. Meta algorhitms too were built by people who were promised lots of money and they followed. Same goes with everything else, including war related stuff. There was no gun pointed to head - only money. Like during WW2 - "I was just following the orders" lmao.
"But people need money to live, you are shaming workers".
They are not people working at fast food joint trying to ends meet. They can work everywhere else for less money with their skills but choose to "pursue opportunities" and do "interesting projects". Fuck your farms where you retire after 35 after seeing "horrors", books and interviews after collecting tons of cash, beige clothes and "can't speak to you about anything including politics because I signed NDA" during a meet up in a cafe. Fuck your perfect hair and teeth made from blood money, travel to cleanse soul, niche interests and carhart shirts. You are like Gale from Breaking Bad - leading to abuse or death of people because you wanted to join upper middle class. Without you billionaires would have achieved nothing.
New Toy Story movie doesn’t feature iPad because of Disney corporate friendship with Apple
They can’t smear campaign real villains - the iPads with YouTube Shorts and, the irony, Disney+. That’s why they went after… educational tablets - LilyPads - to avoid conflict of interest. If I was LilyPad company I’d sue Disney for baseless defamation. Remember kids, real villains are at Apple and Microsoft!
Have Meta updated Instagram Reels algorithm?
I always liked Instagram reels for being slower than TikTok. It seemed to me that Reels show me stuff based on my previous likes and watch history. More random things that I may or may not be interested in.
Meanwhile a while ago i started to see „mind reading” reels like „you have just logged on your alt” or „good night” or „you are sitting on a toilet right now” and it got me wondering. Did they update algorithm to be more ubiquitous like TikTok one? (And TikTok is almost unreal in reading what things a person likes so the bar is high)
Usually when you discuss this with people online, they say something like „this can’t be true. They probably set off these calories somewhere else. They are active or something, caloric deficit, surplus etc etc”. Like there is a secret to the fact they inhale lots of food.
In my experience it isn’t true. My ex gf wasn’t walking that much, was skinny af and didn’t have problems (purging etc) or worms. She was regularly indulging herself with portions twice the normal person and sometimes joked about looking pregnant after food. No weight gain lol.
I also know a guy who is my height and he orders crazy amount of food when we travel somewhere. He is skinnier than my chunky ass! I was eating both breakfast and late dinner with him so I couldn’t understand it too lmao.
I also seen people taking antidepressants and massively changing appearance with the same diet.
Right now I’m more stressed with work and while I eat the same I became puffier.
The point is: I think that metabolism is very prone to drastic changes despite what people on internet tell you. And there are people with big metabolism out of nowhere. Maybe it wasn’t studied enough.
I see so many people recording but also professionals with bigger cameras and it literally goes nowhere after the show
