Does anyone like/love their Tucson hybrid? 👀

So I’ve got a ‘23 Limited gas, new to me, have had it for a few months. I’d like to swap it out eventually for a hybrid in a year or two. The “easiest” transition would be to get a ‘23-‘26 Tucson limited hybrid, but tbh I’ve seen lots of complaints on this subreddit—and the phantom braking recall issue put a bigger dent in my Hyundai trust. I also see folks complain about getting lower than ideal mpg.

So if you own or lease a hybrid, how are you liking it? Any issues? My top hybrid contenders are:

- ‘23-‘26 Tucson limited (in love with my 360 camera and can’t give it up 😍)
- ‘26 RAV4 limited. Toyota has a reputable hybrid powertrain design, which would give me peace of mind
- ‘24-‘26 Honda CR-V Touring, though I’d be giving up some awesome tech features
- ‘23-‘26 Lexus RX 350 hybrid luxury, should I be blessed with extra $ to afford my dream car.

Curious to hear about your experience, thus far. Thanks!

42F and thinking of trying spiro. Did you experience any side effects?

I’ll be 42 on Friday, am perimenopausal, and am thinking of trying spiro. I get these hormonal (sometimes painful cystic) flare ups around my cycle, sometimes during, and I’m just over it. I use tazarotene (similar to tret) at night, azelaic acid during the day, dapsone for inflammation as needed, and of course moisturizer and spf daily.

I’ve been avoiding spiro because 1) I was previously trying to conceive and 2) I heard it can have side effects. I take meds for diabetes (very well controlled) and statins for hereditary high cholesterol—not sure if those conditions will affect it in any way. I heard it can throw your cycle off too.

If you’re a middle aged woman, how did your skin and body react to spiro? Any side effects? Advice appreciated before I see my dermatologist next week and make a decision. Thanks!

If you have the newer Smartstream engine (2021 and newer) how’s it going?! Any issues?

I bought this beautiful ‘23 Tucson Limited (currently has 34k miles) but I can’t even enjoy it and relax because every group or forum I’m a part of is plagued with Hyundai horror stories. I know the Theta II engines had oil consumption issues among other inexcusable failures that Hyundai should have never allowed to happen, but this girl has the newer Smartstream engine.

So if you have a Tucson with the newer engine, what’s your experience been like? Any advice? I’ll also cross-post to the r/Hyundai group.

BTW I’m over paying for gas and am thinking about swapping her out for the hybrid/HEV in a year or two. ☺️

My 2023 limited is a gas guzzler. I’m regretting not getting a hybrid 😭

Okay, maybe gas guzzler is a tad dramatic, but coming from a fuel efficient Chevy Cruze, which got like 35-38 highway miles, it feels like it. Admittedly this is my first SUV, bought used at 33k miles, and the the amount of gas (especially with AWD and 19-in wheels) has been a sticker shock. I almost don’t want to drive anywhere. 😭 I do mostly local driving; I don’t hop on the highway much and maybe that’s what’s killing the tank. I bought from CarMax and loved the limited features, so limited hybrids weren’t really available from what I saw. Local/city miles I’m getting maybe 19-20 mpg.

Any way to increase fuel efficiency? Should I consider swapping it out for a hybrid next year (like maybe a CR-V hybrid)? I’ve only had the car for a month and for the most part, other than the gas and rougher suspension, I’m enjoying it.

Love my new car, but the suspension on my ‘23 limited is bothersome

I just bought a used ‘23 Tucson Limited. I just knew I was walking out with a Mazda 🤣. Anyway this is my first ever SUV and I really like it so far with the exception of one thing: the suspension is rough. 😭

A few facts:
- I understand this is a common complaint
- this is my first SUV so part of it is getting used to sitting higher and the tires not hugging the ground
- there are mismatched tires: 2 Michelin Primacy and 2 Touring A/S
- the 19 in wheels are gorgeous and have beautiful rims, but I know this contributes to the rougher suspension

I really like everything else and want to keep my car, but I want to soften the suspension.

Do I:
- upgrade the tires to a more comfy Michelin, like the Michelin Defender 2?
- give myself more time to get used to it?
- get different, smaller 17” tires so there’s more rubber/cushion?
- something else?

I’ve been really stressed questioning if I made the right decision. I love all the cool features inside and the spaciousness. So I want to make it work, but also want to be comfortable in my ride.

Help? 😭
