"Process video"

Well... Not really a detailed process but more a sneak peak on the kind of layering I tend to use on most of my posters. I did post this one one this sub some weeks ago.

Hope you will like it.
Ask any questions about it, I'll do my best to be helpful.

You can follow on Instagram for more posters and hopefully more detailed process videos.

Flower made with Blender
Layout and effects made with Affinity.

Have a good day guys and girls.

Why do we always have to come up with a text for our experimental poster ?

Thought it didn't needed a text and I personnaly love the blank space. Blank space is life.

I also added a happy accident which happened when I loaded the wrong texture in my mockup.

Hope you like it !

New Home Decor Poster (+ print shop?)(+ I got myself a new mockup)

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well.
Here's a new one I'm pretty proud of. Really hope you'll like it too.
In some of my last posts, a few of you mentioned wanting to buy the posters, and coincidentally I've been seriously considering opening an online print shop. I'm actually working on it now. Since I live in Switzerland, what I'd consider a fair price could represent a lot of money for people elsewhere. Production costs can be pretty high, and I really don't want to offer a cheap product. So I'm still trying to find the right balance between price and quality. I know I won't be able to make everyone happy, but I'll do my best.

Chain visual: Blender
Layout and FX: Affinity
Custom grain.
With the precious help of my girlfriend for typographic composition.

Some technics were borrowd to the amazing Doron Studio
Also used a texture from Texturelabs.

Another poster + a message to this community

Hey everyone! Here is another poster I made.

I mostly want to use this post to thank this community. It's been a bit less than a month since I started posting here and you guys and girls have been nothing but kindness incarnate. When I started sharing my creations on the Internet I never wanted to become a "social media star". I just wanted to talk about design, learn from others, and share my knowledge. While we all know that sharing images on Instagram is now dead, you guys managed to keep a kind and active community and this is great. I hope I will manage to bring a valuable contribution. Can't wait to learn from you all. Keep the love of good design. Have a good day or night.

Bloom

I don't really know what to say here. I worked on this one for a pretty long time because I couldn't get the right feel. But after a lot of back and forth I am finally happy. Hope you will like it.

Questions are welcome. I will do my best to share how I did it.

Layout and FX: Affinity
Fonts: Countdown and Switzer
Still using the custom grain I made.

Hexagon Sun

I wanted to make a tribute to Boards of Canada (again). The goal was to represent both the apparent simplicity and the deep complexity of their music.

Am I a little obsessed with this band right now. Yes.

Homage to Germano Facetti / Pelican Books

Another home decor project paying homage to the Pelican Books covers of the 1960s-70s, and specifically to the editorial design work of Germano Facetti and the Marber grid system.

The idea was to take a contemporary medium (3D) and run it through the visual codes of a much older one. A medium too young for a rendering too old.

Tools:

  • 3D: Blender
  • Layout and typography: Affinity
  • Typeface: Switzer
  • Paper texture: texturelabs.org
  • Grain: custom

Happy to answer any questions about the process.

"GROW" - Retro-Futurist poster.

Finished this one over the past few days and wanted to share. It's a home decor project, I wanted something bold to print large and hang on the wall.

The main organic shape was modeled in Blender, then I brought the render into Affinity for all the post-processing and layout: color grading, the heavy grain, the gradient background, type and the branding. Fonts are Bauhaus 93 and Garamond.

I was chasing that 70s sci-fi paperback / vintage exhibition poster vibe, with a bit of a weird/alien edge to it. Limited palette, risograph-ish texture, oversized display type and that slightly unsettling speculative-brand feeling.

Side note: I've always struggled to put a name on this visual style. If anyone has ideas or knows what to call it, I'd love to hear it.

Happy to answer any questions about the workflow.

Hope you like it poster people.

SCIENCE

Hey everyone!

Here's an abstract poster I made, inspired by early computer graphics, the covers of old science textbooks and sci-fi magazines from the 70s and 80s. Tried to capture that mix of didactic seriousness and quiet weirdness those books somehow always had. Curious what you think!

Tools & credits:

  • Source visual: Blender (rendered with Cycles).
  • Post-effects and layout: Affinity.
  • Fonts: Gambarino and Switzer. Both available on Fontshare.
  • Grain: a superposition of standard digital noise and a custom Turing pattern I built.
  • Paper texture: texturelabs.org

Hope you will like it.

Just wanted to celebrate Boards of Canada new album.

As you people seemed to like the grainy retro style. Here a poster a made some weeks ago as a personal celebration for the new Boards of Canada album.

Long time Adobe user, I made my fist poster with Affinity.

Was a bit lost with the UI at start but I think I could totally switch to Affinity.
