Hi friends, I could really use some advice. I’ve taken the MCAT twice (491 → 495) with only about a month between attempts, which I now realize was rushed. I’m preparing for a third retake while working full-time, but my recent full-length scores are still around 499.
I was planning to apply MD/DO this cycle, but I’m unsure if I should go for it or wait another year to improve my score. I feel behind at 25, but I also want to give myself the best chance.
My GPA is 3.45 sGPA / 3.6 cGPA, and I feel confident in my ECs, LORs, and personal statement. I’d likely need to ask my letter writers for updates if I apply this cycle.
Would you apply now or wait and focus on a stronger MCAT? TYIA!
