Mauritius Trip — 5N/6D, 3 guys — Looking for Suggestions

Hey everyone! We’re a group of 3 guys visiting Mauritius for the first time in 1st week of Oct.
This itinerary was initially suggested by Claude, so before we lock anything in, I’d love to hear from people — what should we add, remove, or change?
Day 1 – Arrival + Grand Baie
Land early morning → check-in → Grand Baie beach → relaxed evening/dinner.
Day 2 – Catamaran + Grand Baie
Full-day Northern Islands catamaran (Gabriel Island/Coin de Mire) → snorkeling, BBQ, drinks → Grand Baie nightlife.
Day 3 – Chamarel + Le Morne
Check out → Chamarel (Seven Coloured Earth + waterfall) → rum tasting → Le Morne → quad biking + sunset → stay around Flic en Flac/Le Morne.
Day 4 – Casela
Full day at Casela Nature Parks → safari, activities, maybe lion walk → relaxed evening at Flic en Flac.
Day 5 – Île aux Cerfs
Full-day trip → lagoon/beach → possibly jet ski/parasailing → final dinner and drinks.
Day 6 – Departure
Early morning flight.
We’re staying 2 nights in the north and 3 nights in the west to avoid a long drive to the airport on departure day.
Would love suggestions on:
- Anything important we’re missing
- Anything that’s overrated/not worth the time
- Whether the itinerary is too packed
- Better places to stay
- Must-do activities/restaurants
- Any tips for driving/parking
We want to cover the classic Mauritius highlights without rushing through everything. Thanks!
Anyone planning to book Air India / Air India Express?
I have some Tata NeuCoins that I’m looking to use up. Since they can be used for Air India / Air India Express bookings, if anyone has an upcoming flight, I can help book it at around 10% less than the booking value.
DM if interested.
Advice on taxi or car rental in 1st week of October.
Hi Guys,
Will be in Mauritius for 5 days with 3 friends, What would be the a good option either to hire a taxi for the day or self drive cars ?
Also what are the expected prices ?
[Approved] US B2 Visa, Chennai
Hey Folks,
I would like to share my recent experience at the Chennai Consulate regarding my US visa interview.
I approached this interview with a degree of optimism. My appointment was scheduled for approximately 11:00.
\*\*Logistics & Profile\*\*
\* \*\*Consulate:\*\* Chennai
\* \*\*Employment Status:\*\* Employed by a US-based real estate company.
\* \*\*Travel History:\*\* Previous travel to Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka.
\* \*\*Purpose of Travel:\*\* Tourism in Las Vegas with a friend who obtained a B1/B2 visa last February.
The entire process, from entry to exit, was remarkably efficient, taking approximately 10 minutes due to the absence of any queues.
Regarding the interview itself, the following questions were posed:
Do you perceive any threats within India?
Do you anticipate any threats upon your arrival?
What is the purpose of your visit?
Where are you currently employed?
What is your current salary?
Where do your siblings reside?
Are you married?
With whom will you be traveling?
Do you have any acquaintances in the United States?
Do you intend to meet with any work acquaintances?
The approval was granted on the same day, with the status changing to "Issued" the following day. I selected the pickup in Kolkata and received a notification on the fourth day. I proceeded to collect it with my appointment confirmation page and a copy of my Aadhar card.

Ai Express not refunding Neu coins
Facing a very weird issue with Air India Express and Tata Neu.
I was booking a flight through the Air India Express and reached the payment page. I noticed extra convenience fees being added, so I did not complete the payment. However, despite the payment not being completed, my Tata Neu Coins still got deducted and a booking got created with pending payment.
Now both companies are redirecting me to each other:
- Air India Express says contact Tata Neu
- Tata Neu says Air India Express has to process the refund
What makes it worse is Air India Express support told me I need to pay the remaining booking amount first and then cancel the booking to get the coins back, which honestly makes no sense because I never completed the booking/payment.
Has anyone faced this before? Any suggestions on how to escalate this properly?

Hi, our first time visiting bali with 4 adults in early 30s, need few driver suggestions.
Hey guys,
Planning a 9-day trip to Bali this year during the dry season with my 4 cousins (all early 30s). Current plan looks like:
4 nights in Ubud
2 nights in Gili T
2 nights in Seminyak
Day trip to Uluwatu from Seminyak
Mt. Batur trek from Ubud
Skipping Nusa Penida this time
Looking for some recommendations:
- Villas in Ubud
We’re a group, so looking for nice 2–3 bedroom villas (preferably central Ubud or slightly scenic but not too far). Any solid recommendations?
- Waterfalls / places to visit (and timing)
Planning to cover waterfalls around Ubud — which ones are actually worth it and what’s the best time to visit to avoid crowds?
- Scuba in Gili T
Any good dive centers you’d recommend for beginners/intermediate? Worth doing here vs Bali mainland?
- Drivers / transport
This is important — any reliable private driver contacts or agencies you’ve personally used?
Also open to any general tips or things you think we shouldn’t miss given this itinerary.
