Humanitarian organizations, too, increasingly depend on connectivity to deliver responses at the speed and scale required by emergencies. Connectivity disruptions can hamper their ability to operate and provide assistance.

Our delegation emphasizes the importance  of ensuring that hospitals, ambulances, and humanitarian agencies stay connected, essential communication networks must remain active. 

Governments must explain and justify restrictions publicly, to avoid violating International Humanitarian law. 

Humanitarian organizations, too, increasingly depend on connectivity to deliver responses at the speed and scale required by emergencies. Connectivity disruptions can hamper their ability to operate and provide assistance.

The ICRC acknowledges that the United Nations discourages broad internet shutdowns. However, if any restrictions are imposed, they must remain strictly limited, time-bound, and must never interfere with humanitarian operations or the protection of civilians.

Maintaining connectivity can also be critical for authorities to implement precautions against the effects of attacks, for instance to quickly remove civilians from the vicinity of military objectives, and to share information on how to protect themselves against the dangers resulting from military operations.

Hi! this is my first time doing an MUN. I need to write an opening speech of around 120 seconds, but the thing is I don't know what I'm supposed to address/speak about in this.

for reference, I'm in UNHRC. I'm representing the ICRC, so not an actual country. and the agenda is digital blackouts.

what should i speak about? any specific thing its compulsory to mention? what do i address the Chair?

Context-

We have a 3 yr age gap and she thinks i was brought into this world for her free labour. We share a room and im always the one cleaning up after she trashes my drawer searching for her clothes.

I'm the middle sibling (younger brother- 8 yrs old ) and she just dotes on him and i can't ever shout at him if he does something wrong, because shes always on his side. I'm always the villain who acts unreasonable.

She yells at me for no reason at all, just for being present in the room sometimes. I'm always hanging out in my parents' room ( cuz they're gone for work half the day ) and everytime i try to hang out in my room, im being told to leave.

Both my parents are older siblings. I try talking to my mom abt this, but her advice is "dont let her dominate over you, dont listen to her if she does that". how do I tell her that if i don't do what my sister tells me to do, i get verbally abused all the time, being called a selfish, good for nothing, useless, self centred, f*cking b*tch.

she doesnt even realise how much her words hurt, being called that every alternate day. And the tone with which she says them is shocking. If i don't close the curtains before getting into bed, "are you too stuck up to close the f*cking curtains or do you want me to do that for you?" said in the most sickeningly venomous tone.

She doesn't realise she is the reason I cry myself to sleep and have social anxiety.

when i try to confront her abt her behaviour, she turns it on me only like its my fault.

she tells my cousins im good at nothing, no sport ( even though i play tennis, she thinks shes oh so better cuz got a nationals gold medal for it at my age )

I need to stop this, coz this can't go on indefinitely or my mental state will collapse.

Advice from any older siblings? She's 17

I have tanned very weirdly - my forehead is a darker shade than the rest of my face and my cheeks look a bit patchy. I know i need to start putting sunscreen but the thing is that that will rn only protect my face. The half-half tanning will still remain.

So anything i can do to remove tan from my body? Asking also because since I play sports ( especially in the afternoon/evening ) I have a lot of tan lines and patchy skin. I want to remove this. What should i do?!
