Jerk Pickles

Hi! One of our local pickle company's used to make some amazing jerk pickles, but they discontinued them. As we're transitioning to fall, I figured I'd start a new hobby: pickling!
First round went to red onions, so now I'm transitioning to capture the Caribbean flavors that I love for regular cucumber pickles. Does anyone have some recipes they might be willing to impart? I have the basics down (scotch peppers, habanero as a substitute, cinnamon, ginger, allspice berries). If you've got some other great flavor enhancers to add to please let me know! It's easy to just buy Jamaican jerk seasoning, but that's kind of cheating so I want to try it really homemade.

Jamaican Jerk Pickles

Now that our local picklers at The Real Dill stopped making them, I'm going to try my hand at making my own. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Jamaican or African grocer that they prefer around the Denver metro? Also, fairly new to pickling as a whole so this will clearly be a trial-and-error endeavor, but I don't want to go the cheap route and just buy jerk seasoning and be, well, a jerk.

Going Crazy on this, the goal posts keep moving (Vent post)

Going for a government position. They say "Get all this done by date xxxx."
Ok, done that. The facility that I did the vax at said "As long as your titres(blood draw) are in by date XXXX you're cleared." Everything done. Get a call on XXXX date to come in for additional vax, ok, let's go. Get the vax. Upload the files. Mumps requires two, can only do the second after 30 days. "Oh this GOV position requires all of the vax". Wtf, I was told as long as my draw date and initial vax done by XXXX I was cleared, what's the hold up? I was already cleared by the third party hiring.
This has been a Kafka-esque lesson in bureaucracy at it's finest.
I keep getting the run-around on a "he said-she said" kind of platform.

Powerhouses

What's in your top deck?
For me, is as follows for something on "Hard"
Hunter (after enough build up)
Venom (Straight up brick house and will sweep the floor)
Runners up is Magik and Ghost Rider
As an aside, I can't abide Wanda's "No More" card, it just hits hard in the heart after reading "House of M"

A Bit of Good News (don't mean to rub it in anyone's face)

I love this subreddit, I just wanted to inject a little joy here.
I was recently let go from a major CC company. It was absolutely a soul crushing job I burned out after 2 years. A blessing, really. Hated walking around the house with slumped shoulders and my head constantly down, depressing AF.
Yesterday, I had an interview with a healthcare organization and received my offer letter. Granted, it's only scheduling but I'll be making more than I was and *helping people*. I didn't want to spend my life explaining 20 cent interest charges or waiving late fees the rest of my life for ungrateful mother fuckers. This will also be benefiting what I find to be a marginalized group of people that I myself am a part of, so I get to complete my mission and help these folks. My spouse works in the health care field and she has such a glow about her at the end of the day knowing she's helped people, I said "That's what I want, that is exactly what I want, not just a paycheck but walking away with my head held high".
Will there be a certain amount of drudgery, will I have things to bitch about? Certainly. But I will walk out of the office and at the end of the day I will have my pride back.
The take away from this, I guess is: keep going. You'll find something that has a meaningful impact on our society and not just lining a CEO's pockets.

Halp! Been out of commission since September

Got on a semi major wreck a number of months ago and I do not know to fix it. Our bike shops that do e-bike repair are a little far for me to walk it (bike rack is caput for the moment, don't ask) and I don't have any bike repair tools for chains. I've got the standard issue tool bag and the one Rad sends you, but is this a garage repair I can do with basic tools?

Figure out the contact beam was the best way to beat Leviathan, especially the leg shaking part? Been playing off and on for the last few years with various configurations.
It was a weapon I never used so I was like "meh", but my aim sucks so a year ago I decided to give it a go.
That was easier than I thought with something I never use.
