35 [F4M] #Houston- Looking for my person

I'm 35, a mom of 2, and I live west of Houston. I loveeee books, crafts, movies, art, museums, yoga, and learning new things (currently learning Spanish!). I'm goofy, generally unserious, and the most introverted social butterfly you'll ever meet!

Politically, I don't play about human rights. I believe that food, housing, and universal healthcare should all be guaranteed. I also believe in the liberation of all people and can't be in community with people who don't.

Romantically, I'm a lover girl, very affectionate, and looking for someone similar. I'm not the "play it cool" type and will tell you straight up that I like you and want to be with you lol. I appreciate romance and thoughtful gestures like notes and flowers. Also, I enjoy going out to dinner and exploring the city, but a perfect night for me would consist of ordering in and watching a movie while cuddled up on the couch (or anime if that's your thing lol).

I'm looking for someone who is between 28-50, single, and preferably lives within an hour or so of Katy, TX. If you live outside of Texas, I'm only open to getting to know you if you're willing to travel here at least once or twice per month on a consistent basis, but that's still less than ideal. I value emotional intelligence, empathy, curiosity, and stability.

Anyway, I'm excited to hopefully meet my person!

Help me start a small school for autistic kids 📚

Hey y'all!

I'm a former teacher with autistic sons of my own, and I'd like to start a small school!

Finding educational options that are specialized, nurturing, sensory-safe, and affordable is a challenge in Houston, so I'd like to change that!

If anyone knows of any grants, private donors, or additional funding resources, please let me know! I'm a divorced single mom with a normal, middle class income, so a large business loan isn't feasible for me.

Feel free to send me a message!

New Community Reviews for Home Buyers

Hey everyone!

I'm Victoria and I wanted to share my website where I write honest reviews of new communities in Katy and surrounding areas! I already have 5 posts so far on Grange, Bergamo, Villarosa, Colonial Heights, and Jubilee, and I plan on adding dozens more within the next month. If there is a particular community you'd like me to review, please comment below or send me a DM! Here's the website: https://www.victoriahtxrealtor.com/findyourneighborhood

I'm also hosting a virtual First Time Home Buyer class on 8/30, and attendees receive a certificate for up to $1,000 towards their closing costs if they use me as their realtor ☺️. If you'd like to attend, please register here: https://www.victoriahtxrealtor.com/firsttimehomebuyerclass

Thanks!

Community Bartering

Hey y'all! So I've seen bartering posts on other platforms and wanted to try it here!

Basically, you just list what things/services you'd be willing to trade (please don't make it weird though) and what you're looking for yourself! The point is to build community and help each other out without exchanging money. I'll go first!

For context, I have a business degree, I'm super creative and crafty, I'm a realtor, and I used to be a teacher (still certified in ELA!) Things I'm good at/can offer:

Editing/proofreading
Gift basket arrangement
Parent education (how to help a child struggling with reading)
Website creation (Squarespace. I made the website linked to my profile)
Logo creation
Business consulting
First time buyer classes (group or 1:1)
Event planning

Things I'm interested in receiving:

Sewing lessons
Pottery lessons
Cleaning service
Tattoos
Meal prep
Yoga classes
Spanish help (I'm doing my best to learn)
Social media marketing

Also open to other offers!

Overwhelmed mom looking for help!

Hey y'all, I'm an overwhelmed mom looking to get some support. Anyone have recommendations for the following?

  1. A great housekeeper to come every two weeks. I prefer a small company or solo operation so that the same person comes every time.

  2. A chef who does meal prep, preferably someone who delivers or offers local pickup. I also prefer someone who uses a commercial kitchen. I'm nervous about cleanliness bc I doubt home kitchens are inspected 😩.

  3. A great nanny or babysitter who has experience with autistic children.

Thanks so much!

Question about dating in Houston

Folks who don't want to get married: Where you finding other people like you? What are you saying in your dating app bio to find success?

I don't want to ever get married again, but I also don't want a casual relationship. I feel like a unicorn out here 😭.

Houston Homebodies: Let's be friends!

Hey y'all, so I'm in a weird place where I absolutely don't want to go out, drive far, or be in a huge crowd, but I also really want more good people in my life.

The thing about me is that my personality confuses people. I'm adventurous, talkative, outgoing, and I have a very social/interactive job (I'm a realtor) , but at heart I'm an introvert who prefers to just exist in the presence of other people without it being an event or outing. I want to sit on the couch and eat snacks together, watch and discuss tv shows, or just laugh about random things. I want to be comfy and wear sweats and a big ass tshirt instead of having to dress up. I also hate texting, but I love a good phone call to just ramble about whatever.

A little about me: I'm 35, divorced, a mom, and I live in the suburbs on the west side of town. I'm very progressive and care deeply about human rights. I love books, crafts, tattoos, comedy, and good shows. I'm currently learning Spanish and jiu jitsu, and have a list of other hobbies I want to try. I also don't take myself very seriously!

The other thing is that I value quality over quantity when it comes to friendships. I'd rather have a small number of lifelong friends than hundreds of surface-level connections. I also believe that friendships are relationships that require intentionality. Although my life is busy and I'm unable to text much, I will absolutely carve out a day and time for a standing weekly/biweekly meet up or phone calls a couple times a week to catch up. We'd need to meet publicly to start (not trying to end up in the bayou lol), then house meet ups once we establish trust!

This invitation is open to anyone 30+, and you can be any gender. I actually really like having male friends, but don't be creepy about it (and I do have a strong creep radar 🤣). If you're reading this and feel even an ounce of non-platonic interest, I prefer to be asked out directly as opposed to you trying to pretend to be my friend.

Please send me a message if interested!

Update: Yeah, I give up. The men have ruined it 🤦🏾‍♀️.
