I’m currently a bit more than halfway through Season 1 of Kamisama Kiss, and I am absolutely, completely obsessed with it so far. It’s so good, but I’ve hit a bit of a dilemma that's been bothering me.

I know that the anime cuts out a significant amount of content from the manga. Because of that, I’m debating the best way to experience the story. I'm torn between switching to the manga right now, or finishing the full anime adaptation first and then diving into the manga from the beginning afterward.

At the same time, I feel like switching halfway through wouldn't quite be the same because I'm already so attached to the voice actors. Their performances add so much character, and I honestly feel like the comedy and all those super cute, butterflies-inducing scenes might land way better with the music, color, and voice acting of the anime. But since I don't know for sure, I'm really torn.

My biggest concern is the ultimate emotional payoff. For those of you who have experienced both, does the ending hit harder for the first time in the manga or through the anime? I really want to get the absolute best first-time experience for the finale, so I'd love to hear your thoughts. What do you think is the best route to take?

I just wrapped up the anime and I’m looking forward to reading the Moto manga but I'm wondering if the anime skipped over some important stuff.

Does the main manga have unadapted chapters that are a "must-read" for their relationship/growth, or did the anime cover all the essential bases? If I should read the main manga first, are there specific chapters I can jump to, or do I need to read the whole thing from chapter 1?
