Title: Should I take Thapar ENC with loan + scholarships? Need honest advice (JEE rank ~1.36L)

Post:

Hey everyone, I really need some serious advice from seniors.

I got ENC (Electronics and Computer Engineering) at Thapar Institute and I have to pay ₹3.55 lakh before 25th, so I’m under time pressure.

My Background:

JEE Main Rank: ~136k (OBC rank ~46k)

Home State: MP

Family income: ~₹60,000/year

Didn’t give any exams other than JEE, so options are limited

My Current Options:

Thapar ENC (confirmed)

Few lower-tier government colleges where I might get CSE, but not sure about quality/brand/value

Financial Situation (Important):

Total Thapar fees: ₹31.6 lakh

MMVY scholarship(its an mp government scholarship): -₹6 lakh → ₹25.6 lakh

Education loan: ₹7.5 lakh (no collateral, no interest for 5 years)

So remaining = ~₹18.1 lakh

Now, since my income is very low, I’m eligible for Merit-cum-Means (MCM) scholarship at Thapar

👉 If I maintain ~9 CGPA:

I can reduce fees significantly

Even if I get it for 1–2 years, total cost could drop to ~₹12–15 lakh

My Goals:

Want >10 LPA placement

Good peer group

Strong college life (fests, events, social exposure)

Good infrastructure & campus

Some level of brand value

I’m extroverted, so campus environment matters a LOT

My Doubts:

Is Thapar ENC worth this cost + loan risk?

How realistic is it to maintain 9 CGPA at Thapar?

How many students actually get MCM scholarship?

What’s the real average/median package for ENC (not inflated)?

Is competition very high because of large intake?

Can I sit for IT/software placements from ENC easily?

If I work hard, can I realistically get 10–15 LPA from ENC?

How risky is taking a loan with my background?

Should I take a lower college CSE instead of Thapar ENC?

What would YOU do in my situation? (be honest)

Final Situation:

I don’t have many backup options, and I don’t want to regret missing a good college—but I also don’t want to take a bad financial decision.

Please give honest advice, especially seniors from Thapar or similar colleges 🙏

Collge admission in Thapar university

Okh listne it's I got thapar enc and I have to pay 355000 befor 25 so should I pay???

It's i don't have much option left in this rank and I don't gave any other college entrance exam other then jee so other then that i only have 2-3 good option which is goverment type or collge but not very famous and I am not sure I get cs there or not

So listne my thing it's total fees of thapar is 31,60,000 but I got mmvy upto 6 lakh so it becomes 25,60,000 and also i also taking loan of 7.5 lakh without any croletral and without interest from bank and I have to pay it after 5 year which I and my father pay with savings and my jobs so after this we have 18,10,000 left but my family income is 60 thousand so I am clearly eligible for merit cum means scholarship in thapar so if i study hard from June and give my best and maintain 9 cgpa then I get this scholarship and even in that 4 year if i get this only one time then this 18 lakh become 12 lakh approx which are manageable for me

And also i am kind of extrovert so I love party events fest I like to meet with new ppl and i want good infrastructure good buildings and more then 10 lakh package good quality peer grp best college life and best campus also a good brand value with fredom

So from all this information tell me where thapar stand for me
