Are they fussy plants, I am from India where summers are harsh and we have 2-3 months of rainy season.

Every time they start in good shape growing well, but somehow after a couple of months their leaves turn brown and close to dying, wondering if that's a lack of humidity or am I overwatering, I know they are super easy to grow plants but I am struggling to get a bushier plant.
Hi guys, I need help with my Astrophytums, as I don't see any growth at all, are they really so slow growers, for 1 green one I see mealy bugs, will treat that, but no growth, for Super Kabuto I see it has shrunk, I put them in indirect light, but it shrank.
