What if the First Philippine Republic had survived in 1898–1899 and the Philippines had entered the 20th century as an independent state rather than becoming an American colony?
The inauguration of the First Philippine Republic in Malolos, January 23, 1899
So, in this timeline, the First Philippine Republic survives the events of 1898–1899, withstands the American offensives of 1899, and successfully enters the 20th century as an independent sovereign state.
The United States is unable to establish colonial rule over the archipelago, and the Philippine Republic survives long enough to consolidate itself as a functioning nation.
From this point onward, Philippine history takes a completely different path.
What happens next?
How does the Republic survive politically and militarily? Does it eventually reach some kind of peace settlement with the United States? Does it gain recognition from European powers or Japan?
And once independence is secure, how does the Philippines develop through the 1900s, the World Wars, the Great Depression, Japanese expansion, the Cold War, and eventually into the modern era?
Most importantly:
What does this alternate Philippines look like by 2026?
15-round .22wmr revolver
(I don't know if this should be cursed gun or not)
This is a 22mag 15 shot revolver made by one of many local gunsmiths in Danao, Philippines
Some cool fact:
Danao is "infamously" known Gun Capital of the Philippines due to the fact that the guns that are made are called "Paltik"(a gun with no serial numbers and made from scrap metal) there are a lot of backyard gunsmiths whom were a family generation of gunsmiths some of them were able to go legit but others don't have the means to go legit. There are some anecdotes or local accounts that a number of paltiks get smuggled in the states used by the cartel. But there are some documentaries that says otherwise.
