Wearing this on a Sunday of a long weekend because I’m feeling it today. Wearing this Santos Dumont XL always feels right

These 2 watches are top of my list. Both are preowned. Can’t buy both and both are similar dress watch style. On the left is a 2006 Patek Philippe 5196G, 37mm white gold, manual wind. On the right is a 2024 Vacheron Constantin Patrimony 1410U, 39mm white gold, manual wind. I love the look and feel of each. Both wear beautifully. Both dials keep my attention. Both are close in price. I could wear either any wear. I have a small preference for the small seconds on the Patek, and the silver dial is timeless. Seeking advice on both from people who know. Are they comparable? Am I asking for trouble buying a 20 year old Patek? And I know these are dress watches, but are they fragile? Give me your advice.

I am going to buy each of my 2 brothers a watch. These guys are great brothers and I want to do something special for each as we lost our Mom a couple months ago. Neither brother would buy themselves a Rolex so this will be special. I’m hoping it touches their hearts and they’ll cherish it forever. I’m torn between the 3 below. I think black dial is safest, goes with anything, anytime. I know they each have a black diver already, so not sure if the sub would feel like an attempt to replace. one brother is not flashy, the other is a little. I personally don’t like the Explorer and don’t think they would either. I like the Air King but not sure if it would feel busy for someone else. Also not sure if I’d engrave and if I’ll need to go gray. Not sure my SA would sell me 2 at the same time. What do you think is the best option for gifts and If SA/AD would do me a solid?
