I usually find slice of life gets boring but angsty slice of life is my bread and butter. I also enjoy fantasy.

Someone who is chill and easy going - I wotk odd hours and have health issues so sometimes my replies can be slower or other times if for example I'm stuck in hospital with nothing to do I'll be online a lot.
Someone who is enthusiastic about the roleplay and getting to know each other's characters
Someone who isn't just using me to rp their fandom with no interest in my side, characters, plots or ideas
Someone who doesn't mind crossovers and going into things fandom blind
Someone who uses third person story style rp (quotes for dialogue, normal text for descriptions)

Someone who doesn't mind no/minimal smut (I'm bad at it and usually just do fade to black)

For example, for me rapid fire moments with heavy dialogue are usually shorter whereas big dramatic moments or characters being introspective will be longer.
Semi lit would be preferred - I don't care about grammar or spelling once it's not so bad that your messages are hard to read or have absolutely no effort put in.

I've always made fandom friends quiet easily but in the last few years I've drifted out of fandom spaces and even when I do get back into them it seems people aren't interested in writing and discussing fics with fandom friends? Doing fandom rps, exchanging fan edits etc.. I don't know if it's because I'm older now? Making fandom friends just felt much more organic when I was younger. Now it feels like an exclusive club I can't get into and I miss it lmao 😭
Just wanted to post about the fact I updated my fic after 2 years! The fic meant a lot to a lot of people, especially me, so I'm really proud to have updated it. I am a bit nervous all the OG readers are gone which makes me a bit sad but I'm gonna finish it for myself anyway and maybe new people will find it along the way!

I just wanted to thank you all for your help and nice comments. It really helped me to get back into it. I don't know if it will ever have the reader base it once had but knowing how much it means to me and how much it meant to some people at the time, it feels good to reclaim that. I have a long way to go but I know I can give it a good ending when the time comes!

I don't know if any of you are familiar with the fanfic Open When... well I'm the author and after 2 years I'm trying to update it. I have written countless chapters and they never feel right.
If you don't know the fic essentially Charlie dies by suicide and the fics follow Nick through his grieving process. Charlie leaves Nick letters for different situations he might find himself in.
I know this fic isn't for everyone and that's okay. I'm not posting for clout. I'm not even going to share the link unless people ask for it
BUT if you were to read a fic like this or if you actually have read it- what kind of letters would you want to see from Charlie? Is there anything you wouldn't want to see in a fic like this

So reading volume 6 of Heartstopper and watching the movie had really re-inspired me to go back to my fic and update it. The thing is, this fic is heavy, Charlie dies by suicide and the fic focuses on Nick's grief through letters Charlie left behind for him
The issue I'm having is the fic meant a lot to people (and a lot to me). I've always taken care to get it right. Usually i will just write a chapter for a fic without evem having multiple drafts. With this fic I've often scrapped huge chapters that don't feel right.
I wrote a chapter recently but I didn't post it, it just doesn't feel right. I don't know if it's because it's been a long time (although I've gone periods of time without updating it before). I want to do it justice and I don't want to abandon it but I also don't want to let myself down posting a chapter I don't like or let my readers down by posting something for the sake of it. Maybe I'm also stalling on it bc I would be so sad to update it and have everyone be gone or have new readers that aren't kind and respectful and lovely.
My comment section was honestly so lovely not just to me but to each other and I would be so sad if that was gone.
Has anyone experienced this? Did you get past the slump and post? I started a new fic to try and rebuild my writing skills and respark my passion but it's TBD if that even works

I finally got to see the nephrologist today and I was so nervous I wouldn't get to actually see her (usually in the public system here you see the residents who pass messages along to the lead doc which always leads to miscommunication in my experience). I have been invalidated for so long, told that it was normal for there to be blood in my pee bc I'm a young woman (tf??), told the pain was just period related, told that the recurrent UTIs were my fault (one doc told me i should shower after every pee!!)
But the nephrologst validated that it's not normal, the pain IS in my kidney and she even thinks i was misdiagnosed with UTIs and put on antibiotics at times I shouldn't have been.
I'm getting tested for more renal related issues, she gave me medical equipment so I can take my own urine samples directly to the lab in the hospital.
I have suspected I might have nutcracker syndrome and every doc has dismissed it or said they don't know what it is but she took it seriously and said it's a possibility! She said they're going to start thinking outside the box.
I'm so happy to just be believed. To be listened to and validated afrer 3 years of suffering (and I already have other chronic illnesses from well before then so this adding to it was so much)
I don't know what will happen next. More specialised blood tests were done today. Maybe nothing will come of it, maybe the road to diagnosis will be long but at least I'm finally on the road and not a million miles away!!
Anyway I just wanted to share it here I try not to talk about my health stuff too much in real life so I won't get much of a chance to actually put it into words

Adam shouldn't have blown up and the people babying him for being disabled is something I find abilist as a disabled person myself (although this could be a whole other post) I wouldn't want people excusing my behaviour due to my disabilities. That being said I think Adam had a very normal human reaction to being beaten down and screwed over. Even when David was blatantly bullying him he tried to laugh it off and lighten the mood. David calling Adam useless when he was terrible at every trial he did was just 💀
Now before anything kicked off I did not like David at all. He seemed very rude and entitled and like a sore loser. He also comes across like a hypocrite. If Adam was carrying on like him at the live final about name calling he'd probably call him a snowflake and say it's 'just words' and all that bs. This isn't me hating on him just to be 'team Adam' he made a lot of rude and questionable comments and was misogynistic and selfish through the whole series from his first entrance.
Jimmy gave me shit stirrer vibes from the start but the shift from goading David himself to them being besties was weird to me.
Now onto the actual point of my post. What were they like on their OG seasons? Were they this controversial? Do you think they ramped it up for relevance (all publicity is good publicity to some people)
I'm just curious if there's much difference in how they acted or how they were edited? Is there anyone who liked them in their OG seasons who despised them in this one?
Also not relevant but everyone saying the Sinitta hate is only bc of the live final, I personally lost all respect for her when she called Gemma a joke. It seemed more like a dig than a genuine question.
