Werde meine Seamaster Professional 300M los...

Moin.

Which Pickguard should I choose?

I just bought a 67 Fender Custom Shop Telecaster in Aged Vintage White. I love the sound by I don't like the slightly boring look. Not that it is not beautiful but there are just too many of this specific variant. Instead of using the plain white 3ply pick guard I wanna go with a little late 80s / early 90s vibes. Which color looks best to you and are there any other pastel colors (not doing anything dark here), that would work with the yellowish vintage white body?
Also I am thinking about switching the tuners for some black Schaller tuners.
And yes, there will either be Daisy or Minnie Mouse to kinda break with the tradition and make it more fun and personal.

Telecasters with a modern look?

I’ve spent the last two weeks looking into Custom Shop Telecasters to finally treat myself, but I’ve hit a wall: it feels like half of them are boring '52 reissues, and the rest are standard Dakota Red or shades of white. None of them feel modern.

While the Telecaster design itself is timeless, the color choices usually scream 50s or 60s country and folk. Unlike the Strat, the Tele rarely seems to look contemporary.

I love playing ambient music, and picking up a classic sunburst just feels completely wrong for that vibe. As a Creative Director in marketing, I’m a highly visual person, so to me a guitar is a total work of art and I need the whole package, aesthetics included.

Do you know of any current Fender Telecaster designs or unique colorways that fit a modern ambient or young indie aesthetic? I’d love to see examples, especially rare one-offs or limited special editions Fender has dropped in recent years. Post your favorites!

Decision making ...

Hey everyone, I’m currently locked in a complete 50/50 dilemma between two amazing Fender Custom Shop Teles, and I could really use your honest opinions and gut feelings to help break the tie.

The first one is actually sitting right here at my house. It’s an Aged Vintage White with a New Old Stock (NOS) finish, which is usually exactly my style. It also has the classic dual single-coil setup that I tend to prefer. Honestly, I really like it and I'm about 95% happy with the look and value, but it hasn’t completely stopped me from looking around.

Then there’s the challenger, which is a Heavy Relic in Graffiti Yellow. Now, Graffiti Yellow is my absolute favorite guitar color of all time. It has a single-coil and humbucker layout, which isn't my favorite look but definitely not a dealbreaker either. Even though I'm usually strictly an NOS guy, the slightly worn-in relic neck on this one feels incredible and has that perfect, instant played-in feel.

Both guitars share the exact same fretboard radius, so they are on completely even ground there. I'm just totally torn between the classic NOS vibes of the White one and the killer, flashy dream color of the Yellow one.

I'm not looking for anyone to make the final decision for me, but I genuinely want to hear what your intuition says. Which one do you find visually cooler or flashier? What criteria would tip the scale for you if you were in my shoes? Let me know your thoughts.

Edit: It is kinda funny but all those comments really helped me to made up my mind. I am not buying the Graffiti (color is awesome, but heavy relic is just too much relic after all) and I will return the vintage white too.

Will look for another Graffiti Yellow in Relic or Journey Man. Thanks everybody!

Need help with a purchase decision: Fender CS '67 Telecaster

Hey guys,

I have the chance to pull the trigger on a brand new Fender Custom Shop '67 Telecaster for right around €4,200. Just wanted to get your thoughts whether this is an okayish deal?

The specs are honestly right up my alley. I really love the color, and it comes with a rosewood fretboard, which is a massive selling point for me. It also has a Modern C neck profile with a 9.5" radius. This is pretty much ideal since I'm coming from an American Performer and an American Professional II, so the neck layout should feel completely seamless and familiar.

What do you guys think of this guitar and the specs in general?

Also, I have a specific question about the finish: Does anyone here own a recent Custom Shop in Aged Vintage White? On the store pictures, the yellow tone looks incredibly piercing and intense. I'm wondering if the color is actually that loud in person, or if it turns out a bit more subtle and creamy in real life?

Would love to hear your insights. Thanks!

Spark 2 vs Lava for Beginners

Yes, there are several posts that compare these two. There are also lots of videos out there, but I am still struggling to make the right choice for my situation.
I am in my early 40s. I owned lots of guitars over the years, took lots of lessons, but never really got into playing. I still own a few Telecasters and after suffering from a heart attack (genetics related), I can't do my 5 day per weeks sports routine for the time being and so I thought this is the perfect opportunity to make the best out of this situation.

What I wanna do: practice strumming patterns, improve on my sense of rhythm and learn by jamming to my favorite songs.
I understand that the built in DAW of the Lava will allow me to upload e.g. Dancing in the Dark, mute Bruce's guitar and join the E Street band?
On the other hand the Spark 2 will show me which chords to play including the right timing and easily find me the right preset for each mood and song?
So these are all features that I really dig, while the part where it shows the right chords at the right timing might be the best thing to help me learn. Does the Lava also come with such a tool or is it only the Spark?
Money doesn't really matter, so I am not looking into buying the affordable option but rather something that will me improve and have fun.
Which one would you guys suggest to get?

(not native in English, so please excuse any mistakes I might have made)

Bin mir wirklich unsicher.

Need some Help with an Old School Deck

So I have this old school deck (almost) that I am building around Kess with cards up to Mercadian Masques only.
It doesn't have to be competitive, but I am trying to get as close to B3 as possible.
I am looking to do some discarding to feed Megrim and obviously use lots of sorcery and instants with Kess' ability. Any smart third winning conditions I could easily incorporate? Maybe something that will help me to draw more cards?

Here is the deck so far: https://moxfield.com/decks/qx0b9UfFXkO5_ioLMNKNAA

In the end fun is what matters most, but due to the fact that I am using mana vault (could add a tutor too), I need to adapt a bit towards the bracket.

Competitive Old School deck - any chance?

I just got into commander after being absent from MTG for almost 30 years (I quit after Homeworlds after I got robbed off all of my cards).
Now I have adult money so during Covid I started collecting the cards I loved in my teens.
Two weeks ago I went to my LGS and played this deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/tko3zhOk00GJdOynajVpFQ

While I delivered most of the damage at the table I was also the first to be defeated. Any idea if there are ways to play decks with cards limited to the 90s (despite the commander, which would really be a huge issue), without making a fool of yourself?
I already created two more decks (and also bought all the cards), but I fear they will be just as inefficient as the first one:

Moin.
