Duluth Ren Faire

The Ren Faire today was so fun and I thought it was a great event, with a huge turnout! I love that everyone was dressed up. Thank you to everyone who helped put it on! I hope it keeps happening and stays weird and down to earth and never becomes a DECC event 🙏🏼 ily Duluth

Marriage

Hey all, I am 27 and going back to school to get a specific certification. I have a bachelors degree and already am paying off loans from my undergrad program. I’m going back to school in January 2027. We are newly engaged and trying to pick a date for our wedding. We ideally want to get married next year, but I’m concerned about the financial aid situation. My fiancé and I both are pretty low income but are able to pay our bills. He has a steadier income than I do, as I am currently a bartender and he manages a retail store. I am horrible at this kind of thing and am wondering if getting married would significantly affect my aid and we should wait until I’m done with this program? Any advice is helpful!

Wedding MUA and hairstylists

Looking for more recent, relevant suggestions for make up artists and hairstylists that do wedding services. We aren’t having a large bridal party, and I (bride) am not a makeup/hair person in general, so I am pretty lost. I really want a mua that will not go overboard because I don’t usually wear much. Since I will only have me and two others that need services, I am looking for someone that doesn’t have a service fee minimum. Also someone that will go to the venue? It is just outside of Duluth, so not far. Obviously very happy to pay artists and stylists because they are super talented, but we are trying not to spend a billion dollars, so affordability is important too. Thanks in advance !

Forest Road 17 to Medicine Lodge Lake Campground

Hey all, driving from Minnesota to do some backpacking in the Bighorns. We’ve been on some forest roads on the north side of the national forest that google deemed passable with a vehicle and we were a little iffy going down them. This time we are headed from Dayton on Hwy 14 to Medicine Lodge Lake Campground and the Edelmann trailhead. Wondering how sketchy forest road 17 is. Obviously road conditions change, I would just like some insight into what we are driving in to. I drive a 2008 Honda CRV AWD.
Any insight would be appreciated, just trying to be safe and think ahead!

Itchy spot on finger, wart?

I have had plantar warts like 20 years ago but they were way more obvious than this, so I’m not sure

What the heck is this dragonfly doing?

Was on a hike this evening and we noticed this dragon fly look as if it’s jumping up and down vertically right above the water of a creek. Northern MN!

Edit: I learned something new today! Glad I witnessed this. Also you all are cracking me up

Amazon bragging about employees making barely a living wage

There’s so much wrong with this commercial. Woohoo! Billion dollar company pays employees barely enough to live, and you peasants can buy extra ice cream!

Okay here’s the deal: I did my last longish run(13miles) on 04/28, did a recovery walk the next day and a gym session the following day(4/30). Next day I get hit like a train with a cold. I am taking it super easy and did a 4 mile hike on 5/3. My race is on 5/16, I’m not going for any crazy time, I just want to feel good, do my best and have fun. I’ve completed one 50k last year and I’m feeling pretty good about my training so far. Am I cooked if I take it easy until this cold is gone? I really don’t want to be sick going into race week. My job is outside and pretty active and I have an active dog so it’s not like I’m just chillin on the couch . Original plan was to keep doing 3-5 mile easy runs and strength till day before race. Any tips on navigating this? TYIA!
