Please can we ban AI content on this sub

I'm sick of seeing low effort AI garbage infest a space where real artists, writers, musicians and fans post about a franchise we all love dearly. Someone posted an AI video of Ocarina of time with Trump in it and it is just pure soulless dreck. There's already enough of this rubbish in the world, we don't need it anywhere near our fandom.

A reason to feel optimistic about the Zelda movie

as we know, the filming for the Zelda movie has wrapped, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth is playing Link. I was a little worried about this casting, as this is a big role in a movie that is extremely important for the franchise, and I wasn't sure how Benjamin would do in the role given that he is young and relatively untested. It would be very easy to make a bad casting decision for Link.

The latest season of House of The Dragon, the Game of Thrones spinoff, is airing at the moment, and Benjamin has a role of Prince Daeron. For the first few episodes this character didn't have much to do, but the most recent episode his character has more of a speaking role, and becomes emotional during a scene with another character. After seeing this, I am actually really excited to see what he can pull of in the Zelda movie.

Benjamin is able to pull of the "strong silent type" whilst also appearing a bit vulnerable and unsure, using his facial expressions to great effect. There are several scenes in HotD when he has to act without speaking, and he conveys what the character is feeling and thinking without words extremely convincingly. His expressions are subtle but very thoughtful, and he pulls off a "wise beyond his years" impression masterfully. When he does emote, he gives a strong performance that doesn't feel forced or rehearsed, he really does have chops as a great actor given his young age.

As we get closer to the release and get to see trailers, I'm sure people will get a chance to see Benjamin make the role his own, and if HotD is any clue as to how he will play Link, I am feeling much more optimistic about our leading man and how he will carry the film.

How long did it take for the rash to fade for you?

Hi, I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago after presenting with a bullseye rash. It was really deep red, after 2 weeks of doxy it has faded but is still visible. Is that normal and how long did it take for the rash to completely disappear for you?

Ever had Lyme? Ever had Lyme on your PERIOD????

So I got diagnosed and put on antibiotics 2 weeks ago after having a bite resulting in the classic rash.

I've literally had no symptoms at all. Sure the antibiotics were a little harsh on the stomach, but no biggie. I was feeling like I got lucky, or maybe this Lyme thing isn't that big a deal.

Then I got my period. Holy SHIT this is bad. I am so incredibly WEAK. I am normally reasonably strong. I don't lift weights or anything but I can pick up heavy concrete statues, push a car etc.

I tried going up the stairs earlier and FELL OVER because for some reason I couldn't lift my leg high enough to step on the first stair. I did manage to get up eventually but it was slow and a lot of effort, like how you imagine a grandma.

I tried to lift a handheld vacuum cleaner and my arms were literally SHAKING from the exertion. It wasn't painful, it wasn't like that feeling when you've overdone it and have lactic acid buildup, there was just no strength at ALL from the start. Its a really weird sensation and something im not used to.

Anyway now im lying down because I overdid it trying to go about my day as normal. I feel really tired like I could sleep, even though its only lunch time and I slept really well last night.

I hope this shit goes away soon. I kidded myself into thinking it wasn't affecting me. I've been going for hikes and exercising these past 2 weeks and now I can barely get up stairs. I hope I've just overdone it and this isn't a cheeky little teaser of how bad shit can suck with this illness.

Help me find the "Maciver Beaver" British dental/toothpaste poster from the 90's

This poster must have been up in every school and dentist office in the UK in the mid to late 90s, but its completely memory holed now. It was a poster with a white background. In the middle was a cartoon beaver holding a toothbrush and standing on its tail. I'm pretty sure the caption said something like "Maciver Beaver's tips for a healthy smile."

The company it came from might have been Macleans or Colgate. I know several toothpaste companies have had Beaver mascots, but I can't for the life of me find hide nor hair of this one.

Even if you only remember seeing the poster as a kid, please comment and let me know so I know I'm not crazy. Thank you!

Lyme disease is no joke

One of those "I never thought it would happen to me" things but guys be very very careful with ticks this year if you are out walking in Scotland. I'm in the Highlands and regularly walk my dog in the local woods, this year there have been so so many ticks, I'm very good at checking myself after every walk, but one got me on the back of my thigh, absolutely tiny about half the size of a sesame seed. I picked it off the same night it bit me, a week later got a massive bullseye rash. Antibiotics from the docs but im completely wiped, worse than any flu or covid. I cannot stress how much you need to take precautions this year, do not make my mistake thinking as long as you get them off you on 24 hours you'll be OK. Long trousers, DEET, or just don't go into any woods or long grass is the best option. It's out there and it absolutely sucks.

Continency (or continence) generally refers to bodily control: The physical ability to voluntarily control urinary and bowel functions. 🤔

I hope this isn't what I think!

Found in an old graveyard. I regularly find animal bones there (owl hunting ground) but I saw this and didn't recognise the shape. If its human I need to call the city and let them know, there was a lot of animal burrows and I think some rabbits may have been tunneling into the graves.

What are these weird things I coughed up?

I felt something tickling the back of my throat, I thought it was a hair or something. I coughed until these... things came out. They're hard, flat and sort of wooden? I have no idea how they got in my throat!

edit: thanks for all the replies so far guys. for those asking what I have eaten today, I had chicken and fries earlier. I looked at the ingredients list for the chicken marinade to see if there's anything that could explain this, it lists black pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon, but when I look at the chicken I have left, there are no bits on it that look similar to this.
