Are you guys ok?

I ask because what I experienced from the bakery section today makes me think they’re firing people.

The bagels, the beautiful fucking bagels I would stop in mornings after work to buy, like today. The aroma of bread filling the store. Still warm after the employee slid them from baking sheets into bins, before dirty hands fingered them all, bagels so good you could just eat them plain from the bag with no heating or toppings, have been replaced by chewy sawdust.

They’re clearly prepackaged Walmart crap unpackaged into bins. I bought 4 to give it a try. But holy fuck. Not just not worth the calories but prepacked by the Walmart checkout stand quality.

Chewy fucking sawdust instead of bagels.

I can only assume they’re firing people for some cost saving downsizing plan. So, I have to ask, are you guys ok?

Accessibility: font size

What is the workaround for this? I don’t want to blow up all of the desktop, I just want the font on the app icons, file names, and such bigger so I can read them.

3440x1440 resolution monitor.

Fan control

Disclaimer: newer Linux user, not in IT. Just a brute force from card catalogs to everything else as it happens type person.

The fans on this thing make me feel like my head is hanging out of a car window minus the wind sheer. I hate headphones/buds, they make me feel like my entire head is wrapped in stifling insulation which is an overall negative instead of positive for relaxation time.

These fans are so intense other people in the house comment on it and leave the room rather than hanging out in my general vicinity as they usually do.

Send help.

My searches lead me to coolero which is EOL so that’s a no go. CoreCtrl is actually in the flatpack kiosk but doesn’t show fan control.

The machine runs so much cooler than the old Lenovo Legion ever did, that thing felt toasty even with fans during all 6 years of use. I don’t want to ruin anything on this exorbitantly expensive 76 machine, but this fan noise is untenable.

Running Starfield on high, not ultra. Stellaris as usual, with about half the DLC. Starfield I would understand, but I load up Mozilla and the fans start ratcheting up to full same as a game. I can’t go shopping without these fans acting like a caffeinated 7 year old in a toy store and clearing a room.

Noob friendly suggestions would be great. As is, this isn’t enjoyable.

The Deltagram

This collection made the rounds a while back, for free, with the blessing of the company. The entire collection of the magazine was made available for a while, then all links to the website hosting it went dead. Not the download, the entire website.

I love this old 1940s stuff. Does anyone know of an active link anywhere?

Shot a note of to the company, to see if the set was for sale or free, whatever, I just want it, no response.

Looking for a Tribit earbuds clone with a better charging case

I hate the sticks. Hate. But, for whatever reason, searching true earbuds often results in sticks.

I don’t like the “inside my head” feel of music via headphones or earbuds, so the quality here is adequate for my needs. Audiobooks, phone calls, podcasts.

The problem with the Tribit earbuds is the case doesn’t always work and I don’t know 1 earbud isn’t charged until I go to use them. I’ve even removed all the silicone bits to get them to sit better and cleaned the points, it’s still happening, seemingly randomly.

They pair great. They connect great. In fact, they don’t disconnect until I’m approximately 1/2 acre from my phone when I forget it in my shop. I wear them under construction muffs, no problem, and the phone can be in my bag or pocket while wearing muffs and there are no connectivity issues. The tribits check all the boxes except for the case. They also never fall out.

I’m looking for a tribit clone at a similar price point with a digital display case. I also don’t want to fuck around with another app. Just basic.

Does it exist?

I’ve tried TOZO, but they’re like jagged little rocks in the ear. Tried some side sleeper earbuds but they don’t stay connected under muffs or if my phone is in my pocket. Trying to not do any more Amazon returns.

[IOS] Mute isn’t muting.

I’ve muted r/soorts. I never want to see it. Ever. I still see r/sports. Daily.
