Winco Chicken, Broccoli, Cheddar Pasta bake review

First time trying this and here is my take. This product is baked from frozen at 375F for 70 minutes per package instructions. I baked it in a convection oven so I dropped the temp to 360 and let it go for 60 minutes before I pulled it and stirred per the instructions. You are told to replace the film after stirring and let it go another 15 minutes which I did.

There was a nice layer of browned cheddar on top however the stirring obviously mixes that into the dish and it doesn't look as pretty without the cheese on top.

I added fontina on top with a little smoked paprika which is in the finished picture on the left.

The dish has a garlic forward flavor in the sauce. The sauce is creamy but not Velveeta creamy. There is also a good amount of detectible broccoli flavor. The sauce did not break during cooking or after it cooled and it was not grainy.

The noodles were soft and did not fall apart. There is chicken but not enough that I would consider this a meat based entree.

I unfortunately bought this a while ago so I don't remember the price but I want to say it was definitely under $10.

Plenty of food for 4. I would say a rotisserie chicken shredded and mixed in along with additional cheese on top to melt during the 5 minute rest would make this a great one dish dinner. I added crunchy crackers to my bowl but fried onion or crispy jalapeno strips used to top a salad would be good additions too.

Overall recommendation is to give it a try.

Order writing

Past or current order writers, do you have any tips on getting faster and more efficient at ordering? I have recently took up the task of being the main order writer for grocery. In my store (I won't specify which number exactly for privacy) we do a front and back portion of our store with two order writers, one for the cold side (deli and frozen) and one for the dry side (grocery, chemical, paper, and pet). And I have/am the back up for the cold side and have been for about 1 1/2 years. It's been about a month since I started doing dry and I barely finish on time. Any tips on faster and more efficient ways of ordering?

Winco please read me

was caught shoplifting about $9 worth of merchandise around four months ago. I already paid the civil demand, and I’m currently trying to have the store ban removed.

Some time agThey told me that it may still take some time for them to respond to the letter I sent requesting reconsideration. I called politely, and they simply told me to wait.

My biggest concern is that the police were never involved at the time of the incident, and I’m worried that corporate might review the case now and decide to contact law enforcement months later. Is that something companies typically do after this much time has passed?

This happened in Oregon, and no police report was made when the incident occurred.

Vacation hours

My partner and I are both cashiers. She's finishing her last term in undergrad and has a presentation due on Wednesday, but an 8.5 hour shift tomorrow and doesn't have enough sick time to cover it. Would she be able to use vacation hours?

Can someone explain the WinCo cashback choices at the register?

I started shopping at WinCo this year (complete with the inaugural "...Oh you don't accept credit card?") and noticed there's a prompt for a cashback option in different dollar amounts whenever I pay with my Chase debit card. I didn't want to hold up the growing line behind me so I've declined it, but how does this cashback system work? What do the $20, $50, etc options mean? Does it go directly into my savings account? I've always paid with credit card, so I'm not even sure if this is a perk from Chase or from WinCo. Any wisdom would be appreciated, as I'd hate to keep leaving money at the till. Thanks.

Edit: Thanks for the clarification, everyone! I figured I'd rather be embarrassed by asking than stay wrong and ignorant, especially when we're all trying to find savings wherever we can. I recently moved out and didn't have anyone to ask, so I'm glad this community could educate me. Thank you!

Worth an employment change?

I've been working grocery or retail like jobs most of my life. Currently grocery. I'm getting pretty burned out on my employer and my heart is no longer into my job after a could have been eeoc claim with last years store manager treating me poorly. I'm curious is winco the same union as ufcw or is that just the meat department? Is there also a way to look up the pay scale? I don't mind starting low and working to higher wages if there is a good jrnyman wage to consider long term. Thank you.

Is this a scam? Got a text from Winco..

The only reason i’m not sure is because I did apply for this exact position yesterday and the area code is consistent with the state im in. I applied on the company site, not a job board, and I do believe I put my phone number down but I’ve never known a company to text about job offers. Thanks in advance.

Does Winco accept Canadian debit card?

I used my Canadian debit card from CIBC (interac and Visa branded) last year in store and it worked fine. But today it wouldn't accept it. What is going on?
