Freight crew, how many people do you have per shift on average?

Trying to see if understaffing is a company wide thing or we're just getting shafted at my store. We have on average around 2k+ load per night, our backstock is always 300+ because the order writer sucks at their job, and on average we only get like 4-5 freight crew members and 2-3 LCs that mostly came from days.

Why are people like this?

https://preview.redd.it/ih9yoxd2limh1.png?width=260&format=png&auto=webp&s=5f565a8369ad1fe62e2f547cc3c0ad418a1ea400

literally the fifth time in 2-3 days I've run into this person and they say the same thing every time. Finally blocked them tonight, but like I'm just trying to have a good time. I'm new to the game and engineer is the only class I've played, mechanist seemed cool and it seems shitty to harass people for their choices like this when I'm just doing open world stuff.

Edit: Wanted to say thanks for all the positive comments. I did report and block them so I won't have to deal with them anymore, I just wanted to vent because it was a repeated occurence. There's enough players in the game that I was just surprised to keep running into this bad egg more than once.

Overall my experience with the game and the community has been great and left me feeling very endeared. Thank you all!

I really dislike seeing celebrities in video games

I don't have a problem with celebrities being cast in games. If they're good in the role, great. What bothers me is when a studio casts a recognizable actor and then just models the character after them.

Games are one of the few mediums where a character artist can make someone look like basically anything. You're not limited by the physical appearance of the person performing the role, so it feels like a wasted opportunity when the end result is essentially just "here's [famous actor] cosplaying as their character."

It's especially noticeable with certain actors who appear in a lot of games and somehow their characters always look like them. I'm looking at you, Debra Wilson.

And I feel like this has gotten way more common over the last several years. It used to be kind of a novelty when you recognized an actor's face in a game. Now, whenever a game advertises a star-studded cast, I pretty much expect half the characters to just be digital versions of the actors playing them.

Sometimes it honestly feels like there's a clause in their contracts saying, "If I'm in your game, you better make damn sure everyone can tell it's me."

I'd much rather see studios cast actors based on how well their voice and performance fit the character, then let the character artists actually design someone unique around that performance. You can still use facial capture and mocap without literally giving the character the actor's face.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but seeing a famous actor's face can actually make it harder for me to see them as the character. Instead of thinking, "That's Johnny Silverhand," my brain immediately goes, "Oh, that's Keanu Reeves."

Anyone else feel this way, or do you actually prefer characters looking like the actors playing them?

Do I need to look for another job?

I work freight at one of the biggest grocery stores in my area. It's not just the biggest WinCo, it's the biggest grocery store overall. Over the last few months, scheduling has gotten so bad that most of us are only working 2 to 3 days a week. We're constantly short staffed, barely have enough time to finish the freight load, and almost never have time to face the store afterward.

I can't make ends meet working only 14 to 16 hours a week. This week, I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor for a work-related injury that's being handled through workers' compensation. I submitted a time off request well in advance so I could make the appointments. Instead of scheduling around it, my manager scheduled me on the two days I requested off. Then they approved the time off request afterward, which removed me from the schedule completely. The result was that I got zero hours this week.

Now the schedule for next week finally went up, a day late by the way, and I'm scheduled for a single 7.5-hour shift.

How is anyone supposed to survive on that? Has anyone dealt with something like this, or have any advice on what I should do?

The last time I played this game was I believe around the time they added the stitching thing where you could transmog your armor. I wanted to play with friends but the experience was not great, has it improved at all since then?

I've tried playing it solo and it's alright, but me and my friends all came from Warframe playing together and wanted the same experience so playing this game single player wasn't really the thing we were looking for.

I'm sorry in advance if this sort of thing gets asked a lot, I searched but most threads were very old.

Also small side question, is there a way to start over? I never progressed very far and I'm honestly totally lost in what I was doing or how to really play the game anymore.

When did they change the vacation policy?

I was hired a little over 4 years ago and was told the amount of vacation you get each year on your anniversary is based on how many years you've worked for the company. I was told at 4 years you got two weeks, but this year I got none and was told because my average hours worked was beneath 24, something I have no control over because our night crew boss doesn't give hours.

Getting ready to host my own Palworld server when 1,0 goes live, any suggestions for a server manager to use for self hosting?

Two things I'm hoping to see with 1.0

It won't really make or break the game for me but the first I'm really hoping they touch is character creation. It's alright how it is, and it doesn't need to have the most indepth creator ever, but more options would be great, even if it's just some new hairstyles and face options I'd be more or less content with that.

Also hoping that the improvements to building with Home Sweet Home continue to get expanded on, there are still plenty of tile types of base building they could add like half and quater walls/floors, inverted roof corners, and rounded corners. Building assets seem like they'd honestly be the easiest part of make, though maybe more complicated to get to snap correctly, but I'm really hoping we get more building pieces and not just new sets.

Now that it's launch day, who's excited to play Gen1 next week?!

Because we all know how Wildcard is with last minute delays...

Kind of nitpicky, but DE should hide Operator/Drifter/Protoframe stuff on the market until you actually reach certain milestones in the story.

Had a friend join the game recently and had to explain to them what Protoframes were as vaguely as I could because the bundles are plastered all over the front of the market. The community as a whole tends to be very good about avoiding spoilering new players, at least as best as they can. I've seen streamers get into the game and players go the extra mile to make sure they don't learn about things before they get to them, but the store kind of just throws it in your face.

What can I do about flare ups without insurance?

I've suffered from gout for the last few years relatively infrequently, maybe one flare up a year if any. Lately though, like since the start of the year, they've become more frequent. I don't have any insurance, don't make a lot of money either. Any advice on what I can do to help alleviate the pain?

Am I the only one tired of seeing characters in games look like their voice actors?

It feels like a weird cop out to model a character around the person playing the voice, especially in a game where they are the only one who does. I first started thinking about this when the new James Bond game came to light and being like "that's just Henry from KCD2." Now we have the new GoW game and it kinda brought it back up for me, why is it that Faye looks like her va but every other character in GoW has a unique design? I feel like a voice actor should be known for their voice, not their face.

How do I fix this graphical issue?

My settings are mostly set to Epic (draw distance is at High) and for some reason most of the dino models in the game will reduce to these low poly versions unless I'm basically in first person and right next to them. Any idea how to fix it?
