Samurai S3100VXII Bushido - Fit Check

Think we hit final stage. I went through hell to get here but I found my cut. Been looking for this balance between wide straight and loose straight for a long minute. Plenty of trial and error being at size 30 what’s loose/wide to W32+ is slim straight on me. Did extensive size chart comparison on my own pants measurements and cross referenced it to pairs I visually liked.

I ordered a 30 even though everything and above suggested I should go 31. Glad I didn’t listen to that, could have even gone with 29, but 30 will account for any shrinkage. Probably going roll with double cuff for some months unless my mind changes.

Here’s to finding your pair! All the other pairs I have posted are going into hiding for some time.

Burgus Plus 928

I’m done buying pairs because I need to stick to a small or single pair rotation but for 80 bucks I couldn’t pass. Got these from JDirectAuction. Had my eyes on these in the past but never thought to buy second hand until I did some research on Japan Proxies.

I think this may be my lead pair in rotation despite definitely being washed and worn lightly the previous owner. My favorite balanced cut yet. They are actually 1:1 size chart to my Cane 1947s but are FAR more loose which I like, almost closer to a Full count 0105.

They have a slight slub and hair texture. The indigo on this pair is like a deep aquamarine blue.

Hinoya has something very solid here, glad my curiosity of the less known paid off.

Jeans pricing total Help

Just recently won an auction for a pair of jeans on JDirect. They came out to $56 with their standard plan attached. I am located in the north east USA anyone have any idea what my rough total may be from shipping cost to all added fees/tarrifs?

Help IDing these boots?

I saw these on a video and love the 2 eyelet leather Chukka. Any tip on who these may be from?

Modesto 16oz 3 Months Update, first machine wash.

So these have been thru hell. Wore them out and about, maybe a million steps or more in them. Work, play, whatever you can think of. Logged 84 days of wear since April 9th. Couple rain storms, one soak(with detergent), one hand wash and this time a machine wash. I work in an outdoor kitchen so grime haunts me. Only reason they seen so much soap and water. Did the sashiko myself as they ripped on a teriyaki spot dining table.

Going to put them on the back burner until I some of the holes repaired and pour some love into my new Sugar Canes .

SC41947 Fit Check

Been looking for a slimmer silhouette than my Modestos and skipped the Denime 220A & Tcb 50s for a Sugar Cane 1947. They fit slightly slimmer than I imagined but I can get two fingers in and can see them breaking in nice. No hem because I know they’ll shrink.

Typically a 29/30 in American brands and 30 was all that was available but I think it works.

Let me know what you all think. Any advice on them would be appreciated too

Repair Update

So thank you to everyone who helped guide me what to do with my ripped Freenotes. I work on the road so dropping my pants with someone, regardless of turnaround time could be not seeing them again for a month or so. Therefore, with 0 sewing experience I decided to do it cause how hard could it be? Managed to damage them further in certain areas but that’s what learning is. Left the edge of the scar exposed cause I like the look of it. Trust me I know it looks sloppy but for my first time sewing anything I think it was decent.

Repair Advice?

On day 75 in my denim. No idea what caused this mini tear but it definitely happened in the past few hours. Started as a small rip and now it is growing pretty fast. What exactly should I do to repair this to keep it from destroying a great pair of denim? By the way I have about 2 sets of 3 inches of fabric returned to me from the hem.

TikTok discourse?

There’s so many reasons I disagree with this. Especially being that the pre 1950s era is the inception selvedge which coincided with “baggier” cuts. But I want to know if anyone agrees with this?

I know a lot of Selvedge popularity began arising late 2000s which was during the time of the baggy to skinny/slim transition. Though the looser cut is the more historically accurate regardless of popularity.

27 Day Progress - 16oz Freenote Modesto

I don’t know if my eyes are playing tricks on me but the initial fades are starting to show! 27 days of walking a lot and doing some yard work. No wash, probably won’t do one until about 4 months.
