helloo!! my birthday’s coming up next month and i’m planning to ask my parents for an espresso machine so i can make iced coffee at home. i’m thinking around $300- i don’t need the cheapest option, but i also don’t want to go crazy for my first machine. i’ve heard from friends/family that a machine with a built-in grinder is the way to go, do you agree? what machine would you recommend for a first-time espresso machine owner that wants to invest in a good one that will last me for the next 5 years but wont be too much to ask for as a present?

whether thats ilya being depressed in ottawa and texts shane "wish u were here" so shane drives down, or one of them getting hurt and texting the other that they need them. maybe a friend texts the other saying hey you should really go check on him or be there for him (sveta texting shane or hayden texting ilya). i recently read one where shane is having a panic attack during an award show so he hides in the bathroom and texts ilya and he comes right away. thank you in advance!!

i'm a sickfics #1 fan and somehow i'm only just now getting into allergy fics lol. i read adrenergic by PenAndInkPrincess and it was SO good. i absolutely loved the characterization and the writing was incredible!! had to come recommend it bc i already reread it twice in less than 24 hours

i watched HR in january and started reading fics in march, so a lot of what ive read has been popular works, recommended works, or niche things i was digging through AO3 for. today i was curious about what people were sharing before any of the hype of the TV show, when HR was just a book series! i went through and spent some time reading early fics and i found a few gems i wanted to resurface and spotlight!!

Hii I'm re-reading So Much Of You Is Left Behind by ChaoticRussian2481 for the millionth time and I desperately need more!!

I'm looking for fics where something happens to Shane or Ilya (injury, illness, accident, hospitalization, etc.) and because they're still a secret, nobody knows to call the other. Somehow they find out something is wrong (seeing it happen on TV, hearing from teammates, a text/call, etc.), but they can't get any information and angst ensues.

Bonus points for:

• waiting alone in the other's apartment for news
• using the apartment key/code the other gave them
• lots of worried/protective Shane or Ilya

hi! ive seen fic writers post on socials that they can always tell when a new wave of readers finds one of their fics and they're always curious where those readers came from.

because of that, i've thought about starting to include where i found a fic in the comments i leave on AO3 (reddit, tiktok, threads, twitter, etc..)

it seems like a small thing, but i figure it might be fun for authors to know how their work is reaching people. do yall agree? im curious what other fic writers think

I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing and almost a decade of experience across agencies, brands, and different industries. Unfortunately, I’ve now experienced my second layoff, and it’s made me start reevaluating what I want long-term and I'm considering going back to school to get my masters.

What I love about marketing is consumer behavior and psychology (why people connect with certain campaigns, what makes people engage, emotional storytelling, consumer behavior, trends, etc.). Because of that, I’ve thought something psychology-related would make sense. But at the same time, I’m nervous that in this job market, another degree could end up being expensive without helping much professionally.

My interest in grad school isn’t ONLY career-based. I genuinely love learning, and getting a master’s degree is something I’ve always wanted for myself and maybe this second layoff is the right time for it.

I guess I’m trying to figure out:

• Do you feel grad school actually worth it right now for someone already somewhat established in their marketing career?
• Are there master’s programs that combine psychology + marketing in a practical way?
• Has anyone here pursued something psychology-related and found it valuable in marketing/brand strategy/consumer insights work?

My local MLB team is doing a themed night for a book I’m really excited about, and tickets go on sale today.

I’d been mentioning it to a few friends before details were released because I wanted people to go with and I'm genuinely so excited for this so it gets brought up a lot lol! When info was released friends in my group chat said they wanna go so I was planning to buy tickets with them today.

Now an hour before tickets go on sale a different friend texted me asking if I want to go with her, since she saw tickets are about to go on sale. We had talked casually before about how fun the event sounded, so now I feel awkward.

Would it be rude to say I already made plans with other friends, but we could still meet up there? I’m probably overthinking this, but I don't want to hurt her feelings and exclude her. But this isn't an event where I want to mix friend groups.
