First attempt at re-waxing

What to do with a heat wave? I decided to have my first go at re-waxing and I've put a few photos here of the two I've tried, a Bedale and Patchwork Transport. Not perfect, I can see where I've missed a few bits, but the wax certainly goes in easily when it's 33°c outside.

I used a microfibre cloth, I realise now that I need a brush or sponge for the bigger sections such as the back and length of the arms.

Before and after photo then a few "in progress".

Casual Spey - Stone washed blue

Just a note and a few photos. I ordered the Casual Spey in blue, it's on special offer at the moment.

Customer services was really helpful and explained that the jacket on the website was a sample item and that the manufacturing run was done with the o ring detailing in black instead of blue. The team member explained that the website will be updated in due course.

The stitching and cut of the jacket was perfect and the blue of the collar was really lovely.

The blue of the fabric is rather more grey than the online version.

For me the differences meant that I sent the jacket back but I think if the differences don't matter to someone then it will be a great choice.

If you're happy with the differences then the current 20% off makes it a little more attractive.

I'll put the website photo in the comments for comparison sake.

First running shoe purchase: One shoe for everything (HM training) — what would you buy?

Hey everyone,

I’m a 22M looking to buy my first proper running shoe, and I’ve gone down the rabbit hole so much that every review makes me question the previous one.

My stats:
Foot length: 25.5 cm
Width: 10 cm (wide-ish foot)
Usual sneaker size: EU 41

Training:
Running 4 days/week
Saturday is my long run
Currently building towards my first half marathon in October

My biggest concern isn’t shaving off a few seconds per kilometer—it’s buying something I’ll still enjoy wearing a year from now.
Initially, I was convinced the Adizero Evo SL was the one. Then I started reading about the ASICS Novablast 6, and now I’m second-guessing everything. Every “best shoe” video introduces another contender.

I’m looking for one versatile shoe that can comfortably handle:
Easy/recovery runs
Daily training
Tempo sessions
Long runs
And race day for a half marathon

I know dedicated shoes for different workouts are ideal, but I’m intentionally starting with one do-it-all pair.
One thing that’s important to me is durability. Running is part of my lifestyle—not something I need to survive, but something that genuinely helps my mental health and keeps me consistent. I’d rather invest in a shoe that can comfortably last around 1,000 km (roughly 1.5 years for my mileage) than chase the fastest shoe that dies after 400–500 km.
I also won’t lie—I appreciate shoes that are fun to run in and look great. If I’m spending this much, I want something that makes me excited to lace up every run.

So, if you were in my position, what would you buy today?
I’m open to brands beyond Adidas and ASICS. If you’ve put serious mileage into a shoe that felt versatile, durable, and enjoyable, I’d love to hear:
What shoe was it?
How many kilometers did you get out of it?
How does it fit for someone with a slightly wider foot?
Anything you’d avoid if you were buying your first running shoe again?

Thanks in advance—hoping to make a decision before overthinking myself into another week of watching shoe reviews. 😅

Fenix 8 - Software 22.38 - More map lag

I've updated to the recent 22.38 and the map navigation seems even more laggy than usual.

I ran a city run yesterday after plotting my route in Garmin connect and oddly the spoken prompts in my Shokz was pretty good but the route updating on the watch as I ran seemed a fair bit slower than normal and at times I seemed to run off the screen.
