[DC] How the hell Ragskulla is played?

If you have the Deep Cuts Add-on, you see a sporting gang of Ragskulla. They play bringing a ball up on a rope and the opponents try to drop (something) with the bats.

Question is, how does this sport work? How you would make a field of this? How would the players get the ball!? Stuff like this :v It's very interesting to learn more about it :)

EDIT: After a day thinking about it, I have mine solution. The game is played in a retangular field, 5 v 5 (On the official level). Each team is composed of 4 battlers and 1 Roper.

The idea is that the roper go to end of the field and climb up the rope to put the ball in the basket, while the other 8 players with bats try to knock the ball out him (or maybe the player, but this would be a foul!).

The opposing Roper also participates the play, he's allowed to grab the opposing Roper and stop his charge, but the game restarts where he has fallen.

Once in the rope only the opposing Roper gets to drag him out of the climb and this becomes a Pitch. Throw the ball to a Battler and he sends the ball packing like an American Football field goal! Putting the ball on the basket gives 3 points, a field goal, 1 point.

As for the unofficial leagues, people use less protective gear or are allowed to hit the opponent right in the face, for shits and giggles;

Then when the official Plazskulla releases I shall call this "Old School way to play" and move on :v

Idea for a campaign - Locked out in Prison!

This is a running think passing by my head. What if you play out a Campaign all inside the Ironhook Prison? A short one, most likely, as being too much stuck on one place is annoying (like prison!), and there's so much you can do in there, but what do you think about a close district / space campaign for your games? :|c

How would they work out? Would it help to flash out the culture of the region? Or just annoy the players to no end :|c

[BitD] Making a Campaign

I am writing a campaign for Blades as a hobby for a while, and now that I've finished the words part, I was wondering "What does a campaign of Blades need to be interesting?" (as I plan to do more of them in the future, specially if people like my ideas :) Then I came to the conclusion of some "rules" to make a interesting campaign

  • Give the players a motive to their Characters be on the action (They are at the center of a conspiracy, will earn something big, will lose something significant)
  • A countdown clock that when it end will change the status quo of the City in some form (But not destroy the whole setting, no Emperor killing, nor breaking the Barriers, the characters most likely want to be alive after all the trouble!)
  • A 3 Faction Showdown (More precisely 3 in-depth groups, 3 supporting [as foot or elite soldiers] and a fourth non related keeping tabs on the action is the ideal number, not much to remember, just enough to play with)

An exciting first score! (I believe if there's one thing you wanna plan ahead, is the opening shot of the campaign. You gotta give the players the cards for them to play and a good hook to grab their attention right at the start so they also get excited to create :|c )

And by these rules I made my campaign, but also plan to make some more, with themes like

  • Civil War in the city (Done this before, very interesting stuff)
  • Inquisition downing on the criminals of the city (this one is hard to find a specific hook to grab the players)
  • A Plague of Mutants in the city (Akin to the Crimson Court of Darkest Dungeon, but now more different, people kinda disliked my original pitch, but I'll do it anyway :p)
  • A fight for a Heritage of a Leviathan Fleet coming loaded after harsh times in the city (this one is the most likely for me to make next)

and I'm out of ideas :v What you think? What other ideas put on the table? What you think about my 3 rules to make a campaign? Share your mind :>

EDIT: Forgot something, it's painfully easy to make a interesting campaign in Blades '68, good heavens :v The more "modern" scenario closer to us makes so much more easy to make stories for it, and comes with the same system I'm using to make my campaign's a Doomsday clock (apparently a thing of Band Of Blades originally :|c ) but I'll make at least 2 for In the Dark universe because it needs some love :> (And it's easier to find out probably, albeit that everything I'm making will be free, I want that people read and play it! Making stories for the base game gonna help find an audience certanly)

Also, it's past midnight here, If my line of thinking is busted, sorry 'bout that :T

Mint fresh new player interested in Flesh and Blood, a question of "Should I Buy it"?

I'm interested in dabbing into Flesh and Blood, and I want to buy a product to start off :|c Assuming I will not buy not much more product (Yet), ain't interested in competing (Yet) and familiar with how TCG's work, should I buy the "Flesh and Blood The Hunted Blitz Deck Collection" or there's other better product to start?

I could also just proxy it out the cards to start, but I'll leave the effort for when I'm actually invested onto the game :|c

What is the most unexpected way your characters have lost Sanity?

I read a chronicle of Clarisse Lispector, "Amor", and had a funny idea for my time looping campaign.

Your characters, long inside in a time loop and aware of the shenanigans in it, in your commute to the next investigation see a man chewing gum. Then the GM calls for a Sanity check for the players. Those who pass the test, start feeling incredible uneasy, insufferable so.

Then, roll for Intelligence. Those who fail the test, are feeling annoyed at the man who's only decided to chew gum in this loop, but otherwise, focus on the task given this day. Now those who pass the test, get hit hard with a terrifying thought.

"You are stuck here. Mortally bound by the same day repeating over and over again, just to be very hurt at the end of it. You, beholding that man, chewing gum, for the first time in your pitiful existence, feel the crooked smile that the man chewing causes, and then his face go back to normal. Looping. Endlessly." Then you take 2d20 of sanity hit.

I'd say this event triggers by players with high sanity, as same as the Chronicle, you being accepting of the life as it is, something that somehow flies off your normality, overwhelms you deeply.

So, do you have any tales like this? Does this inspires you? Share your thoughts!

Could be a one-shot, could be a campaign, something like this. I'd make one for Cthulhu, making the players investigate the source of the Curse and help out the villagers of the Hamlet deal with it, with a splash to Pulp Cthulhu to fight the bosses and live to tell the tale :b

Or even a Mork Borg mega dungeon! Quite like the ones in Crimson Court. I'm aware that exists a modded version of MB to play DD, but I'm thing of making maps and enemy tables to cross the garden.

All stuff like this :|c I'm pitching the idea because I got too much on my plate to work on this one in particular :v Hopefully this inspires you to make something cool like this :>

Just writing down a idea of a scenario I would love to make, or someone get an idea from this.

I am a very big fan of Zero Escape and lately have being playing Umineko (Beware of spoilers! If you have already read, please don't spoil me, I'm in the second break of Ch. 3) and one narrative thing that I find really interesting is going back to the start of the story and taking different paths.

I was wondering, how this would fair in a RPG game? I'm thinking of CoC specifically as the scenario as is what I'm most interested in running supernatural games, but maybe this could even be used in systems like Vampire if you find a right excuse.

  • The idea is simple, the campaign have a Unmovable Start, where the characters formally present themselves and the important NPC of the scenario. After the first go, the GM has a handout to summarize the same thing in case a player needs a fill-me-up.
  • The players either choose one path of investigation or follow a set choice of the narrative. They go thru the story path, investigate by their hearts content and then BLAM, they get murder, or they solve nothing, something to surprise them
  • Then the narrative, as a horror, goes back to the players back to the beginning and they choose another path. And they go and go until they solve the scenario.

The kicker, the characters and the Antagonist of this game want different things but they can be found in the same place.

An exemple of a scenario of what I imagined is like this:

(It's the first time I even dare to write what a premise of this story could be)

So, what do you think? It's a good 8 sessions worth it premise to write about? Do you think RPG's can handle this kind of scenario? How can I hastly shove a Prisoner's Dilemma in this game :|c Let's discuss this idea :>

>The thing is, a new batch of criminals came to the prison, all for the same crime that ended them in jail, so they gotta investigate who incriminated them before they die.

>At the same time, a Iithian is stuck down the bowels of this prison, and will do anything on it's power to guide people to free itself. The characters will descend into madness trying to find the culprit or die over and over again, to free the alien inside the prison!
