Update: launching end of this month, around ₹30,000

Just got off a call with the manager at the Garmin brand store in Bengaluru. Here's what he shared:

  • Launch: end of this month
  • Stock: arriving within about a week of launch
  • Pricing: US price ($200) plus roughly 30 to 40% for customs, GST and taxes, so he expects it to land close to ₹30,000 here

He was pretty forthcoming with all of it now that they see the demand for Fitbit Air

Take it as word of mouth for now since it's just what the store told me, but he sounded fairly confident.

Beginner with flat feet + overpronation — is the ASICS Gel-Kayano 32 a good pick? Open to other stability shoe suggestions too

Hey everyone,

I'm a beginner runner and I've only done 5Ks so far but I'm looking to buy my first proper pair of running shoes. I've been running in an old pair of regular training shoes that have now worn out, so it's time to upgrade.

I have flat feet and I overpronate, so from what I've read it seems like I should be looking at stability shoes. After some research I've more or less settled on the ASICS Gel-Kayano 32, but I'd like to hear from people who've actually run in them before I commit:

  • How have they worked out for you, especially if you also have flat feet / overpronation?
  • Did they feel supportive and comfortable over your runs, and how's the durability holding up?
  • Any sizing tips (true to size, or size up)?

And if you think there's a better option for a flat-footed beginner, I'm all ears and happy to consider other stability shoes too.

For context, I'm based in Bengaluru and buying here, so any availability/price tips are welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Learned my lesson paying full price once — help me buy a Tissot PRX the smart way

Still fairly new to the hobby. My first watch was a Seiko 5 GMT, the second being the Casio Royale, both of which I bought at full MRP from a boutique because I genuinely didn't know any better. A friend who's into watches later told me that discounts are pretty much always on the table be it boutique, AD, doesn't matter, and I kind of kicked myself.

Now I've settled on the PRX 40mm in the ice blue dial and I want to do it right this time. Would love the sub's help:

- What discount off MRP is actually realistic on this ref right now? (rough % or a real out-the-door number you paid)
- Where do you all buy, Tissot boutique, Ethos/Helios, Kapoor Watch Co., online, or somewhere else? Who tends to give the best price?
- Any specific dealers/SEs you'd vouch for? I'm in Bangalore but open to buying online if the deal's better.
- Honestly, how do you even bring up the discount conversation? Do you just ask flat out, mention a competing quote, or something else?

Trying to avoid the rookie tax thrice. Can anyone help me with some genuine advise and guidance on how to go about this. Thanks in advance 🙏

New to fitness: What is the entire raw chicken washed and unwashed situation?

So I’ve officially started taking fitness seriously, which means chicken is now 60% of my personality. But every time I cook, a war breaks out in my kitchen.

My cook washes the chicken like it’s checking into a 5-star spa, running water, a full massage. Meanwhile every firang fitness YouTuber is screaming “DO NOT WASH RAW CHICKEN, YOU’RE LAUNCHING SALMONELLA ACROSS YOUR ENTIRE HOUSE.”

So which is it? Team Wash or Team Raw-dog-it-straight-into-the-pan?

Do I trust generations of Indian kitchen wisdom, or a guy named Brad with a GoPro and a cast iron skillet?

Genuinely need guidance before I ruin my next 200g of protein. 🙏
