2023 Hyundai Venue Issues

I bought a 2023 Hyundai Venue a few months ago. I love this car! I’ve had a persistent issue with a headlight warning ⚠️ on my dashboard (the passenger headlight is out) and just figured I just needed to get around to replacing the headlight. Well I just got around to it and the dang thing still isn’t working. So it’s not just a plug and play issue. What else could be wrong?? I obviously double checked the part and that it was installed securely. What are my next steps to diagnosing this?

Feeling Scared

I have been accepted into a civil engineering program. It feels surreal to me. I’m so excited, except….. I’m really scared. I haven’t done well in school for a long time. It took me five years to get my associates, which is just in general studies with the lowest possible math class taken.

I’m a single mom with two kids and I work full time. I’m old and tired. I’m scared. I’m so scared I don’t have what it takes. I’m scared I won’t understand or have the bandwidth to learn/practice all the math. This program will take me 3 grueling years to get through (15-16 credit semesters and packed summers), because I didn’t know what I was doing with my lower division classes and I only had 23 gen ed credits transfer in to this program.

I’ve thought about getting an environment science degree instead. I found one I could finish in just 16 months. It would be about $30k cheaper. And easier (no math or lab classes).

I work in a support role in a civil engineering department already, they’re very supportive of me getting my degree and they’re giving me tuition reimbursement and being flexible with my schedule and all that. I feel like I have such a leg up in that regard.

I’m scared. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been trying to figure this out for months and I have to decide before the end of the month.

Career Expectations

I’m enrolled and all set to start Sept 1. I’m so nervous. This will be a career change for me, and I’m reading posts every day that say breaking into cybersecurity is really hard. I’m not looking to work in an actual cybersecurity/networking role. I’m getting this degree so I can work in compliance/GRC. I have 14 years’ experience facilitating work with government agencies and I’m hoping this will work in my favor. Or am I screwed without having help desk experience? I can’t afford to take a low-paying job starting at the bottom. I make almost six figures now, but in a dead end job at a company that seems to be imploding after two rounds of layoffs just this year.

What are my career prospects??
