Must-Do Pride Events for New Resident

Hello, all!

My husband and I (29 & 32) moved to Brooklyn a few weeks ago and are excited for our first Pride in NYC.

We are looking into the many Pride events that are being held in the city, but as you can imagine, are getting a bit overwhelmed with how much is out there (what a good problem to have!).

If you had to pick 3-4 activities/events/locations that every gay man should absolutely be a part of during Pride month, I'd love to know! Thanks.

Shower head and Faucet Fixes

I recently moved to a new apartment that's been well maintained, but there are a few things in the bathroom that I want to fix (with permission from the landlord, of course).

The shower head seems to have come off the wall and the covers for the faucets have detached, too. There seems to be this type of putty behind each piece but clearly that's not done the trick.

Faucet cover

I'm very, very new to the world of home improvement and don't know exactly where to start. What recommendations are out there for fixing each of these items? I don't want to paint over the showered piece and the screw that is in the middle of that faucet panel is either missing or stripped.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Men’s Haircut

I recently moved to the area, near the Gates Av subway stop in Bed-Stuy. I’m a man and have medium-long wavy hair and need to find a good salon or barber that can trim and texture my hair without chopping it all off (this has happened many times when going to a traditional barber).

Any recommendations?

Trash Advice

I recently moved to Bed-Stuy and have roughly 8 trash bags to dispose of, full of trash and used moving supplies. They won’t all fit in the bins available to me. When looking at policies on 311 about this, it sounds like it’s a necessity to have the bags fit in bins. How strict is that? Are there any after hours services that can do bulk trash pickup?
