Which string should I start with: cello v. violin?

So I've been wanting to learn both violin and cello for a very long time and finally got a kick in the butt to actually pick one up. I want to learn both someday but obviously need to pick one to start. With a pretty long background of singing, which one should I start with?

Basically still closeted even after coming out

I don't really care if anyone reads this, I just want to have this down somehow and feel like someone is reading it. So I'm genderfluid and I've been "out" to my parents for a year or two now. I use a different name, but don't mind my dead name still being in use. But my parents essentially accepted what I told them but barely addressed it afterwards, aside from 2 "serious conversations". I also still haven't come out to my extended family who we see and are around a lot so basically 50% or more of the people in my life don't know who I am and I'm too scared to tell them. Part of this is from my own self directed transphobia, because my gender is so fucky and when I'm a guy I don't pass like, at all so I feel silly even suggesting I could be anything other than a girl. The best part is my "gender stages" last a fair amount of time, a week or more sometimes so when I am masc or NB, I am that way for a while, extending the discomfort of not being seen that way in a big part of my life.

My parents are truly amazing, both as parents and as people and I'm more than lucky to have them, but they're old and really just don't understand it. It's foreign to them so it's regarded (when it's addressed) as odd and uncomfortable for them to address. It just hurts that I'll be never be considered my parents son, my grandparents grandson, my sister's brother, or my aunts nephew. It's an empty and a loss that just kinda sits there.

Anyways, thank you, internet for being my therapist while I stubbornly refuse to actually go see a professional. I'll probably delete this later, but for now, it was nice to get it out.

Non musical or classical audition songs

Hey singers, my school just announced they're starting an a capella group available to the auditioned choirs and I really want to audition. There's a few parts to it but I need to find an audition song that is neither from a musical or classical. My range is alto 1 - soprano 2. Any ideas?

Does the moon matter?

Hey, I just got my first crystals today and I'm really excited. I already smoke cleansed them, but now I need to charge them. Does anyone know if it matters if the moon is full or can it be any moonlight?

I have this guy friend who is pissing me off and I think I'm being too sensitive but I feel it's worth ranting about to try to just get it out somewhere.

So he generally identifies as a guy and has a male reproductive system. While I know most males do not function on a monthly cycle, he has claimed that some men have hormonal fluctuations monthly similar to a period. I did some research and it appears to be an actual thing, which who am I to doubt to begin with. I don't have that system so I don't know what it's like. He says he experiences these symptoms which I completely understand.

For lack of better (more eloquent) words, he gets really horny for a week or two of the month every few months and is very open about it with me. That's ok, though it bothers me sometimes as a person on the ace spectrum who doesn't really like sex that much, but I've been working on setting boundaries for that.

Here's what's really getting me though. When he's at this time, he calls it his "ovulation". This pisses me off but I don't know why entirely. It should not be that deep. For a little context, I am AFAB and have really horrible PMS symptoms, primarily mental but some physical as well. On multiple occasions I have thought of seeking psychiatric help around my ovulation and primary psm time because it's gotten really bad. Many times I think I'm genuinely going insane and have very manic like moods. Not to the degree of bipolar episodes but pretty bad depressions very quickly alternating with very high highs. There are a few other mental issues that arise during this time. I also struggle physically with some joint pain that I believe is related migraines aren't common but do tend to increase in frequency around my PMS time.

I brought it up today subtly by saying in response to one of his complaints "But you're not ovulating". He just responded by saying that if some people can identify as a trash can, he can identify as ovulating. He was being funny ofc and it was kinda funny but the greater issue was still bothering me.

As silly as it sounds, him calling it his "ovulation" or his "period" just feels a little sucky to me because the actual experience of someone with those cycles is so miserable and he's always complaining about it but it's something I deal with monthly on a much scarier scale. I think I'm being a little toxic thinking this way because everyone's suffering is valid no matter the scale, but getting it out of my head and venting is nice. Maybe I'll bring it up someday, but I bring up a lot of things that bother me in this friendship in an attempt to be communicative and I'm scared I'm just a bad friend at this point. I'm not sure what to do. Am I being way overdramatic? Is this a silly thing to be mad over? Am I too sensitive/feminist for this? I'd love to hear thoughts on this.
