The season finale moved my mother (non-fan) to tears.

I know many consider the episode derivative of other media, but imho it was very well played and enjoyable.

The final five minutes made me cry with a feeling of understanding a relationship to self.

My mother had some knowledge of the original series and TNG, so as a prequel she could follow easily. It meant a lot to me that she was trying to connect with one of my funny special interests by watching the season finale with me.

Those last minutes of showing Uhura believed in herself and watching her retrace her past moved my mother to tears as a non-fan. She even asked to watch trailers and interviews afterwards. She was very happy and even thankful for watching.

I just wanted to share a bit of joy for our fandom. A 68 year old woman who could not relate to Trek just became a new fan. ❤️

More fun making stuff with my kid: Hamburger Mufasa

Used the Lion pet stamp as the base and then recreated it with overlapping stamps of food items. Gave him some ketchup for extra deliciousness. He farts sprinkles and has an icecream poop (with a smiley face as per my son’s request). He floats around (like cloud Mufasa) and says “I’m your dad, bruh.”

AQI pollution misreporting in Ferndale

I know that Detroit area laments transplants as we do where I’m from, but my dad was from here and always said that Oakland/Detroit were sister cities. Now I’m here.

I survived the 1991 Oakland fires and the 1989 earthquake. But I also did 4 years in LA, where I endured ash raining from the sky and all middle grounds of severe climate change fire in short periods.

The AQI of Ferndale is not under 100 as reported by Apple.

I looked into it, and Ferndale has almost no reporting. Our Apple alerts are likely based upon broader averages of the entire state (as I can best assume why it is so poor).

Hazel Park has a reporting monitor at almost 300 AQI. Right next to us.

From my own anecdotal experiences, I would say we are 300-400.

I know the grid is already stressed from the heatwave. Please run your filtered (change you filters) AC and also try to grab an air filter to seclude in one room.

Tape off your doors etc as you would to conserve for winter heat.

Not to tax the grid, prepare to set up in one room. When it was bad during fires, we spent 3 days in one room in my past.

Attaching images from a couple hours ago of the discrepancies in reporting.

How do I follow up with my neighbor after she had repeat rage episodes? Need help, am new to this.

First time here and new to Alzheimer’s info all around. I have an elderly neighbor, let’s call her Dee and her husband Bob, whose MS progressed to Alzheimer’s a year ago. We’ve been in our spot about 2.5 years and that’s how long I’ve known them. They are in their early 70s.

Dee has now had three random episodes of rage screaming at me and being slightly physical. She says she is trying to teach me lessons out of love but everything she says doesn’t apply to me and I’m pretty sure she is conflating/confabulating memories or relationships she has with estranged family members who have gone low or no contact with her. I don’t know the circumstances there either.

Dee has otherwise been sweet. Her personality type does seem to be a bit alienating, overbearing, and proselytizing though.

Dee’s recent episode happened in front of my son and she scared him. She apologized in a text but then continued with the same cruel and angry words in text. She reached out first but it seemed like more of a bait/switch for her to continue after “apologizing.”

I’m not sure how much of this is Alzheimer’s or just her tbh but she definitely has me confused with ideas of someone else.

Bob seems exhausted and I feel sad for him. He started smoking again and will sit outside for long periods looking run down sometimes. (I am a caretaker to a disabled child so I do the same and know that feeling when I see it.) He has been kind and generous to us, helping me with my disabled son and our medical appointments frequently. He comes over to hang out sometimes, like a dad to me (my father died during Covid) and grandpa to my son.

I want to be able to be there for them but her episodes get worse and worse; she seems to have latched onto projecting things into me recently. I live somewhere that I don’t have friends or family, even for selfish reasons of preserving something for my son, I would like to try to keep them in our lives.

Sorry that was long but I really need advice from people who know about this. Are there rules or boundaries to implement that are still compassionate towards her condition? If Alzheimer’s weren’t part of the picture, I would have matched her energy and removed us immediately but it felt unfair considering she clearly has mental health issues.

She recently forgot Bob’s name in conversation (married for 50 years) and she tends to be a night walker now, if that helps to explain possibly how far along she is in progression.

Thanks in advance if you’ve read this far and offer advice!

HAY GUIYZ I HAZ HAZBIN HOTEL DEVIANT ART LE EPIC DOGGO

Blizzard is determined to make Venture the most insufferable garbage character that has a 90% chance to later show up on a fake disorder cringe subreddit or get canceled for age-questionable focused deviant art page. We already get stuck with their voice basically sounding like your standard DID faker making a TikTok vid, but this skin is a hate crime.

Site randomly down for public but backend admin still functioning fine?

Site permissions haven’t changed and no changes to site since yesterday. Site shows it is still published to public.

The site is completely down. Checked in Chrome and Brave on Windows, Safari on iOS.

Any known issues that could cause this? The server should be fine if the admin panel is up, right?

Also, the site is native to SS and has been live for weeks, so not a DNS issue. Thanks for any insight!
