How to get this piece to stay up?

My sister is making a Halloween costume for her son. He's the Demogorgon from stranger things. She's using a hooded sweatshirt for the costume and attached petal like pieces around the hood. She's having trouble finding a way to make the petal like piece on his hood stay upright. The red pieces are felt and the white spines are golf tees. One piece of felt is sewn to the front of the hood. The tees go through the front piece. The backing felt is glued to the front piece and covers the exposed tee tops.

What will allow these pieces to stay up (it either flops forward or back)? Cardboard/firm pieces slipped inside still cause it to flop over.

Best Tiramisu

My sister has a big milestone b-day coming up and her fav dessert is tiramisu. I'm looking for what you consider to be the best tiramisu in town. Not really looking for a "twist" on the dessert, but just the best version. I'm GF so can't try anything myself but have also heard that Publix and Sam's Club have great versions. Would love your help!

Perimenopause a Rant, & why don't doctors tell you you're going to spiral into complete madness?

Perimenopause feels like a roller coaster that you didn’t choose to get on. Like a vice squeezing you from all directions, like pressure building up from inside with nowhere to go, With everywhere to go but nowhere good to go. It explodes in bursts of uncontrollable tears, in explosions of anger directed toward the nearest person doing anything that you can’t control - which is nearly everything. It is looking in the mirror and seeing your body, your face (albeit aging) but not understanding how you can be the same figure of a human on the outside but your brain has created a new being within.
It’s tears, puddling in your eyes and pouring over your cheeks as you try to drive safely home because you’ve just taken a sick day. You were at work for 30 minutes and you just couldn’t stop crying, stop from being upset. The fact that you can’t seem to push through this madness makes you cry harder. And you’re feeling angry because you’re so out of control but you’re also trying to rationalize with yourself because NOTHING even happened. Your life is really lovely and these emotions shouldn’t be present. How often in the next 5-10 years are you going to have to fucking take a sick day because you’re emotions are out of control?

end rant

For those who might be worried for me: my gyn recently put me on BC to get my cycles longer than 20 days (which has been the pattern for the past year) and to aid with some of the various other hormone related issues. It's my first month and I started my period 8 days prior to when the pack indicated I would (my regularly scheduled programming) because my crazy hormones are too powerful. So, I am experiencing a wild concoction of hormone drugs and personal hormones. It's my hope that this is the worst of it and that I'll level out in the next month or two.

Naxos, Alyko Beach abandoned hotel now demolished

For those on Naxos who had planned to visit the abandoned hotel construction project (with the murals) on Alyko Beach, it has now been demolished. We went today and this is all that remains.

Lentil chips: filling, snackable, and high protein

I've been making a lentil flatbread for a number of years. I recently spread the batter out between two trays, instead of one, to increase quantity. I ended up with a leathery bread. Boo. But, to remedy that, I cut the bread into tiny squares and popped it in the air fryer. Lentil chips were born!

Decided to intentionally make them tonight, changing up some spices, and they're fantastic! Easily customizable.

Basic recipe:

1 C dry red lentils

1/4 C nutritional yeast

1/8 t salt

1/8 t pepper

1/2 t paprika

1/8 t garlic powder

Coarse sea salt

1 1/3C water

- preheat oven to 400°

- blend the lentils in a high-speed blender. Similar to Vitamix. Should be a rough powder

- add all the spices ( except the coarse salt) and nooch and continue to blend.

- slowly add in your water and blend until smooth and a little frothy.

- let the mixture sit for 5 minutes.

- spread onto two (parchment or silpat covered) 11x16 baking pans. (It doesn't have to be this size, just make it thin, but not where you can see the tray underneath)

- sprinkle with coarse sea salt

- bake for 15 minutes.

- cut into shape of your liking. (You can do triangles like a tortilla chip, tiny squares like a Cheez-It, you do you)

- using your air fryer ( I'm sure you could do your oven, but I do not know the equivalent because I haven't tried it) bake in batches so that the chips aren't too crowded. (Chips can stack and it doesn't have to be a flat layer)

- bake! You're baking will depend on what you want out of this chip.

If you want it super crispy and crunchy, do a high temperature like 400° for short time. Shake the basket occasionally. ( I did not time this)

If you want a chip with a crunchy outside but slightly tender middle, bake at 325° for longer. ( Again, didn't time it.) Play around and see what is good for you.

- spread them out on a baking tray to cool.

SUGGESTIONS:

You could absolutely increase any of the spices or add others.

Add some heat with some cayenne, add some onion and Dill for a different spin, increase any of the spices, though I wouldn't recommend increasing salt if you are doing coarse salt on top.

You could do a curry chip, chili powder, possibilities are endless.

Note: the picture of the chips in the tray is how many two batches of this recipe made. However, I had already eaten the considerable amount. lol

*Edited to specify that the lentils should be dry.

Moved into our 1920 home in 2013. The bath had been redone in the early 2000s and it was terrible. Strangely lofted toilet (due to poor knowledge of plumbing), teeny tiny vanity, horrendous slate-like stone tile which chipped regularly along with being dark and hard to clean, and generally unpleasant.

Picked out and purchased all the new elements & had a bathroom remodeler do the work. Painted the mural myself. Wanted something bright (which is why I went white), but injected color with the paint and the faux terrazzo tile.

Hex floor tiles= wayfair

Hex shower tiles= HD

wall tiles = Lowe's

Vanity 32"!!=Wayfair

Med cabinet & mirror = wayfair

Shower fixture = Ferguson home
