Where is the pizza sauce?

This is a actual interaction... customer: where is the pizza sauce? me: it's in the pasta aisle customer: no. (she straight up said no to me) it's not pasta sauce, its different.

me... Yes, they maybe different but this doesn't change the fact that pizza sauce, is in the pasta aisle.

And I just can't wrap my head around, she asked a question, and then said no (I was wrong) and then proceeded to tell me (why, I was wrong) and then looked like I goosed her when I said it's still gonna be in the pasta aisle.

So yesterday, we did the same thing: customer: where are tortillas in a bag... me (we are standing in front of taco shells) *points to the bagged tortillas on the top shelf* customer: no no like a square in a bag.. me: oh you mean chips? potato chips customer: nono like a square *makes a triangular shape with their hands* I mean triangle me: yes, yes, tortillla chips! In.The.Chip Aisle. With.The.Potato.Chips. (yes, this was kinda a ESL interaction, but I said chips first, and they said no)

walmart radio: As long as you try, you are not failing...

So I have posted before on how out of touch walmart radio is... and today I hear this phrase (or close enough *as long as you try, cannot fail*) either way... and I feel immense outrage, at how out of touch it is, especially for associates currently going through hour cuts. I repeat the phrase and I cannot get the words out. I will try and keep it simple and straight. The radio, they have one job... nobody is codesparking them 5 minutes before their shift, 12 times a day... nobody is paging them to ODP who got slammed with 1,700 picks the last hour, walmart radio is not covering 7 departments at once.

As long as you try... every day we are trying and our hours are still being cut

you will not fail... you. have no idea that this paycheck is not the one that means the associate cannot pay their rent. And you want to couch psychology them?

Everyday associates wake up, goto work, to do their job and are hit with metrics where just trying is not enough...and it is multiples, as soon as you are codesparked, you are failing your TL, your team, their TL and their team, and from codespark you are pulled to ODP, your tl, your team, FE TL, fe team, odp, their team... and then back to your tl/team 'why didn't xyz get done'

well I tried..

so you can't fail me... thats not how it goes. Not ever. Certainly not in the current conditions.

Please walmart radio, do not couch psychology a situation you have no realistic understanding of.

AIO a neighbors pushy question

First I work retail. And I despise 'small talk' like 'how was your day' because *edit* It's none of their business and I don't want to engage. So, the overreaction. Our neighbor is a mowing service, we don't see them, but have a pretty good relationship with the owner... the other morning I let the dog in our gate and one of their workers who I never met before was bringing in our garbage (we have the same company, runs on the same day) I wave, he waves and says something and I say: oh hi, go grab the can to bring it in the rest the way.. and he says: I said how are you? (a zillion responses run through my head quickly) and I say good, I'm good.

And I keep wondering, why he felt the need to reiterate what he asked,.. like, why was a friendly hi hello, not enough, that he pointedly 'I said how are you?' All I come up with is negatives, pushy, arrogant, some domineering alpha move?... (I'm a good 10 years older than he so it's not like he was an oldman addressing a younger person) so AIO?

tl:dr neighbor guy insists on answer to his question how are you?

Yes. And I was able to explain it. So I was telling my mom about this and how bad it was and she asked if it was really that bad. So I look at her and say yes. And I explain,... I'm sitting at this table and I can push it with little difficulty *grab table with both hands, push, it moves* I cannot conceivable pull the table, one handed *examples* And then I showed her... I said here, look at my back, you see how much strain is on my back trying to pull the table? That's the issue.

And just like that she was 'ohhhhh'.

And I say to myself, you might conceivable push a car, but its less conceivable to pull a car (specially with no handles or harness)

AI response (yes, I know) Humans are generally better and safer at pushing than pulling, as they can generate more force and use larger muscles. Pushing allows for better leverage and engagement of legs, making it more efficient for moving heavy loads.

Why Pushing is Often Better: It uses the largest muscles in the body (legs/glutes) to provide momentum, whereas pulling heavily stresses the shoulders and back.

Safety Factors: Pushing is considered safer because it keeps your back in a more natural position, whereas pulling (especially heavy loads) can strain muscles.
