What's this new trend of big trance names butchering their extended mixes?

Case in point:

1. AvB & Richard Durand & Dicosis - Always You

All the drops were cut 16 bars shorter in the released version, slightly different vocal arrangements near the end of the chorus, the old synths also had a 'warmer' feel
