My Master List of Suggestions

8/12/26 EDIT: Added option for a second checkout counter
8/14/26 EDIT: Added cash deposits

I like this game so much, I want hundreds of hours out of it!
I want DLC where you charge me. Yes I will pay!

Here are my suggestions inlcuding a sandbox mode below:

  • The popcorn, cotton candy and drink machines should break every now and then requiring getting them fixed. This leads me to my next idea...
  • Having to use the phone to make an outside calls, to call someone to repair it. You never make outside calls.
  • An option for a second checkout counter
  • Once a week or daily you have to make cash deposits to the banker (in a building close by)
  • Optional objectives. Rent out an amount of movies per week or day and get a reward, etc.
  • The ability for employees to answer the phone and the in person requests for movies types. (Yes I know these options might make the game more like an idler, but its a nice option)
  • Customizable deals you add to the cash register (scanning 3 movies and the 4th is half off)
  • Some customers forget to pick up reserved movies.
  • More employee good and bad traits. Takes long breaks in the back room, or an employee who never falls asleep.

Sandbox Mode (this disables achievements)

  • You can re-arrange initial store setup (cash register when you walk in on the left, etc)
  • You can set how often new releases come out. Within reason.
  • You can choose the genre of the first new release you get.
  • Choose to eliminate movie genre types, making other types available more often.
  • Making some genre types easier to get (an early game XXX store, etc)
  • Set starting cash.
  • Adjust prices for movies and candy, etc
  • Choose employee traits.
  • Change VHS movie alley guys available days (must stay at 2 a week though)
  • Realism option: longer days/more money made but you pay rent space

Please let me know what you think or if you have any additional ideas!

Amazing Game! But now I want to wait!

Just bought this game and cant get enough but I am only on day 3.

Now I just saw there is a video game addition coming in the fall. Im thinking I should hold off.

The real question is, have you guys done multiple play throughs? If the game is slightly different each time (new movie hits) maybe I should do a playthrough now and another when the video game update hits in the Fall.

Thoughts?

Is this game for me?

Massive fan of Black and White and this looks down my alley. Love the humor, art style, UI all of that.

But I dont like things getting too hectic. Was never a fan of Factorio. If you get in trouble does it get overwhelming with zombies and stuff or do things slow down and let you catch up? Can you play the campaign on easy mode?

I also like getting 50 or 60 plus hours out of my games. Is that possible here after campaign and then the sandbox? Maybe 100 not inlike Jurassic World Evolution?

Thanks!

Any older gamers not going to upgrade again?

So, I am 56, not too old, but grew up with Atari 2600, Commodore 64 and the NES, etc.

I have a mister FPGA system hooked up to a Commodore 1702 monitor at another desk.

At my main desk I have three monitors, an Xbox Series X for sports games (MLB the Show, etc), a Switch 2, a SteamDeck, and my PC with an I7 11700k processor, 32gb of ram and a 6800xt video card. Monitors are all good too.

I am an open world game fan. I love Skyrim games, Oblivion, Kingdoms of Amalur, the new Zelda games etc. With Fable around the corner, and remakes of Fallout 3 and New Vegas and of course Elder Scrolls VI, I think anything after that, I am done. I will not be spending a ton of money for a $4,000 video card. This begs the quesiton for a whole other discussion regarding the future of video games' affordability.

But I sometimes feel there are a ton of DOS games I missed out on. Heck, there are a lot of Commodore games I missed out on. Whatever the next generaiton is, Im not sure I want to go this route. There are so many games I have missed out on.

So I have begun making a list and slowly leaning towards a gaming library that is either console, C64, or DOS games. Basically anything you dont need a high end PC for. Oh and of course Steam retro games that are fun and can run on anything (Vampre Survivors, Dave the Diver, Biomenace Remasterd etc).

Has anyone thought about this and how disinterested they are in future upgrades around my age?

Ideas for getting drive sounds on the C64 core

Im trying to get the famous disk drive sounds when loading games on the C64 core. I like them so much Im actually contemplating getting a Commodore 64 Ultimate. But I want to avoid that and I love the C64 core on Mister. Drive sounds arent implemented, and I thought for sure by now they would.

I wont do it the janky way and play the sound on my phone when loading.

Through some research I have heard that if you hook up a 1541 drive via the SNAC/IEC adapter it will work. But two issue remain:

I have yet to find anyone doing this online and youtube videos show sounds working when its loading an actual disk. I want this to autopmatically make sounds when loading a virtual file, rom etc.

Second, if this can be done, does the disk drive need to be actually working? Does it need to spin up at all? I assume so. But even if it does wont it not find any sectors and just make that horrific sector not found sound those drives can make?

Thanks!

Any updates so your character doesnt look 12, like they are wearing their dads clothes?

My ONLY issue with this game is the player models. If you look at the original art, the models are normal, human-like size and proportions.

When you play the game it looks different, really bad. What makes it worse is that if the head was larger you could argue maybe you are a dwarf or something but even that doest work. Nomatter what type of gear you wear as a male in this case you look like a 12 year old wearing your dads clothing.

Any word of we will ever get a body slider or something?

Am I nuts if I really enjoy Torchlight III?

I loved the heck out of the first two games obviously and never really had many issues with Torchlight III.

The art style and UI are nice, I love the little sound effects of coins flying everyone and the destruction of almost anything you want to break. The combat feels fluid and the classes are very unique.

Having your own home is another thing that is nice and I enjoy player housing.

Ive never really understood the hate. Is it as good as TL2? No, that game is a masterpiece. But Torchlight III to me is really fun to play.

Anyone else on my boat?

Good day!

I am 55, and been gaming since Atari, Commodore, through the early PC days of DOS etc and now current.

As I have gotten older I have become increasingly frustrated with dealing with drivers, especially in the case with AMD drivers, which I have to use older versions and cant even use frame generation because it makes Starfield crash.

I am loving Windrose, but in order to get good frames, just like in Oblivion, I need to use frame generation (maybe a UE5 optimization issue).

I work all day on my PC and after work I prefer to use a joystick to give my hands relief. I dont have carpal tunnel but sometimes its good to take a break. I usually play action games with a joystick, Diablo IV etc. I currently own an Xbox Series X and play MLB the Show on it and love it.

Where I am going with this is I am thinking of making all future big AAA title purchases on my Xbox rather than my PC. Fable is coming out soon and other games. At this point, a solid 60 fps rather than tinkering with trial and error, sounds lovely.

Have any of you started making this transition, tired of drivers, and adjustments and just want to settle with a console game espeically because as you get older a joystick feels better after work, and you can just fire it up and play, and you arent obsesssed with mods, etc.

I do have a Steam Deck as well, and love playing Dave the Diver, Dredge etc on it.
