Are Californians clear to feed raw poultry to cats now?

https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/ahfss/Animal_Health/Avian_Influenza.html

I'm in California and I have been thinking about moving to a raw diet for my picky cat but haven't actually done it because of avian flu concerns. It's so deadly to cats that I'm not willing to risk it until it's cleared. Is the self-declaration linked above enough to confidently start feeding raw chicken, or should I not be trusting self-declarations?

She prefers beef over chicken anyway, but I'm sure raw pet food companies I've been looking at like Smalls and Viva Raw have some level of cross contamination since they process multiple proteins so I'm worried about using companies like that.

Anyone ever disputed ACV/comps for an auto collision total?

My car was totaled and in the CCC One Market Valuation Report, their Comp 1 car is very similar to my own, besides having 1 less feature. This car has ~10k more miles than my car, but under Adjustments for Mileage, they only added a value of $311.

According to a quick Google search, vehicles depreciate ~$1-1.5k per 10k miles.

Is this something that's worth asking CCC to reevaluate or should I just leave it? Anyone had any success getting their cars/comps reappraised?

Experienced home cooks, are there any meal kits you actually think are worth it?

I'm an experienced home cook and although I can make great meals for very very cheap vs eating out, I'm still curious as to whether any meal kits would actually be worth it time- and taste-wise even though nothing will come super close to the frugality of buying ingredients yourself.

People who love to cook at home, what are your thoughts? Are there any meals you've had from meal service/delivery kits where you genuinely thought "wow, not only is this really good, but I don't think I could make this better than they did"?

What's wrong with my Whirlpool dishwasher?

It supposedly runs the full wash cycle, but after the Start and initial water drain and then inlet, it's just quiet for 3 hr with the timer going down. When I open the door the dishes come out freshly warm, steamed, and stinky with nary a droplet to be found (this is with no heat dry). I have done this a few times in a row lately trying new things, but always the same result. The detergent pod either dissolved into a sludge at the bottom of the tub or, in the last 2 cycles, just fallen forlornly out of the closed compartment, soggy but alive.

I don't believe the water inlet is completely clogged because there is some fresh water coming in and pooling at the beginning. When it stops, I checked it and it doesn't seem to be enough to make the float sensor float, though. The float isn't stuck or has debris that I can see, it moves freely up and down.

I ran it once after dumping enough water in to make the sensor float, and that time the cycle actually cleaned. However, I tried the same method on the next cycle and it didn't work.

Just today, the door has started beeping sometimes in a - _____ - ______ - ______ along with the indicator light blinking steadily, but only when the door is closed, a pattern which supposedly happens only if the door is left open.

I've cleaned the spray arms and gotten some debris out so they're unobstructed, and cleaned and scrubbed the filter.

After the first few minutes, it is dead quiet. No humming, no vibration that I can feel, no sound. All it seems to do obviously correctly is drain. I don't know why it's so intent on draining at the beginning of the cycle. I know that some drain first to get rid of stagnant water, but if I recall correctly I think it might have also drained after letting in clean water before.

Can anyone diagnose the problem? What part should I be looking at?

ITAW for almost wishing something bad will happen to you?

I don’t mean foreboding or waiting for the other shoe to drop; I’m not referring to anticipation with a negative connotation.

More like feeling so stuck and stagnant that you kind of want something to happen to shake things up.

I could’ve sworn I saw it was something like lachesis, but maybe that was in fiction.

I finally found a pate my picky girl likes (attempting to stay away from tuna in her daily food), it’s Merrick’s chicken pate dinner in the pink can. It’s for all life stages, she is a young adult.

The first ingredient is deboned chicken and the second is chicken liver. I know liver is supposed to be fed in moderation due to the risk of hypervitaminosis A and a lot of sources online say liver as a treat shouldn’t exceed 10% of daily calories. I feed her other treats like freeze dried heart and shrimp but never liver since most of the food I feed contains liver to some degree.

Should I not make this food her daily food due to liver being the second ingredient?
