Tesla Service and Window Tint

I live in California where there it is illegal to add any tint to the front windshield. I’m interested in tinting the front windshield anyways (just light enough to avoid getting pulled over) but I recently saw a thread where Tesla refused to test drive their car because the tint was too dark. I believe they had 80% tint.

Is this a know reason for Tesla Service to refuse test/service drives or was the Tesla Service center just being difficult?

Tesla Wheel and Tire Protection?

Curbed my wheel and saw that there was a small piece lifting from the tire. I have Tesla Wheel and Tire protection. Would the tire be covered? I know the curb rash itself isn’t covered but figured I can just put a wheel cover on it to hide it

California MyFirstEV Rebate 50% Remaining Funds

Saw this banner that there are only 50% left of funds remaining for the MyFirstEV rebate.

Considering how the rebate just came out on August 3rd and is applied on delivery, does this seem accurate or fishy? Did that many Tesla buyers order and pick up the next day? My delivery is Saturday hopefully there are still funds.

Finally pulled the trigger

Have been looking for a HW4 FSD included MYLR/Performance AWD since Feb 2026 but couldn’t pass on new due to the 3.5k First Time EV California Rebate + 0.99% APR offers being active at the same time.

Quicksilver MY Premium w/ Black Interior and Tow Hook ordered 8/4 from inventory

What are my options for delaying the delivery date? I will be out of town this week.

Constantly swapping models to preserve deposit until California EV Credit comes out?

Like most people that are about to purchase a new Premium MY in California - we're trying to time it right for both the 0.99% APR and the new California EV Rebate. Since the End/Release date of both are unknown, it seems like the best strategy right now would be to put an order in while the 0.99% APR is around, and put your order on hold (I was told 2x is the max) and hope that the new EV Rebate comes out sometime soon and if it doesn't, you would either take delivery or cancel your order and place another deposit (if the 0.99% APR is around) and repeat the waiting game.

My understanding is that after 2 holds, if you refuse delivery your order will be canceled and you will have to place a new deposit down. I was also told by a Tesla rep that if I wanted to change the Model (i.e. go from Premium to Performance) I would have to place another order but they can credit my original deposit to the new model order.

This made me think - lets say I have used up both of my holds and want to "refresh" my order.

  • Can I swap to a Performance and then immediately back to a Premium to essentially avoid having to pay the deposit again?
  • How many times can I do this without them catching on (I could just attribute it to indecisiveness).
  • Are there any downsides/risks of doing this?
  • Does Tesla usually give advance notice before a promotional APR ends? Or would they just pull it from their site randomly?

Bumps formed after wash?

Noticed bumps across my entire 2026 Sentinel Bib ePe pants after the first wash. Is this standard or early delamination?

Washed on cold water gentle cycle with Gear Aid Revivex pro wash.

Noticed these bumps on my 2026 Sentinel Jacket ePe and 2025 Beta AR Stormhood (ePTFE) as well.
