XBOX ELITE SERIES 2 CONTROLLER USERS: How’s it held up for you guys?

I’ve been dying for a controller with back buttons on it, but I’m not the biggest fan of third party controllers anymore. I’ve had my eye on the Elite Series 2 for a minute now, and I think I’m ready to buy one. The only thing holding me back is its long term durability. Buying Xbox controllers in my experience is like playing Russian Roulette, and I’ve heard mixed experiences about this controller’s longevity and durability. So I’m interested in hearing people’s accounts of how well it’s held up, especially from people who’ve had it for more than 6 months, as that’s where I’ve heard it can start developing problems.

These things are pricey, and I really don’t wanna bother dropping $150–$200 on something that won’t even last me half a year before it starts having issues. At that point, I’ll just stick with my standard controller.

I’m also very used to swapping out rechargeable batteries when my controller dies because I really don’t like playing wired. I know the Elite has a built-in, non-swappable battery though. For those who’ve had one for a while, how well has the battery held up? And do you find the built-in battery convenient, or do you miss being able to swap batteries out?

Genuine question to the Switch community: How long are we gonna keep this up

Like the console is about a year old at this point. Why are we still having this same debates?

It feels like this community is sometimes running in circles, punching air, fighting the same pointless battles over and over again with the same results every time. At a certain point, I start wondering if people do this because they’re bored.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just drinking the Kool-Aid. I don’t strongly love or hate the Switch 2 because it’s not my main console, so maybe I’m too detached from the discourse. But I’m genuinely confused by how we’re still having the exact same debates a year later.

I’m kinda venting here but seriously, am I missing something here? 🫤

Feels bad when you’re finally making progress on a trial challenge, then you die to shit like this. Mind you, my finger wasn’t even on the left stick.
