Hi, long story short I have a very tiny ATF gearbox leak coming from the sump (plastic sump) and have been told to replace the sump and with that new oil and new gasket.

I have an Audi A5 B9 Sportback and the gearbox sump is right above the subframe. This is a labour intensive job which entails dropping the subframe to access the sump properly to take off and replace.

Has anyone got any experience with this? I’ve seen online some people say they’ve managed to do it without taking the subframe off so want to know if it is actually possible.

FCP Euro have made a video doing it with dropping the subframe but on audizine there’s a forum advising it’s possible to do without taking the subframe out (it’s for a SQ5 but I think similar layout)

Gearbox: Audi DL382 0CK 7-speed S tronic Automatic
Mileage: 77k miles

When turning left or right at slow speeds I can hear this clicking noise coming from the front end. Can hear both outside and inside the car. The mechanic replicates this in the video.

Mechanic said maybe the steering rack is the problem but want to get a second opinion. The car was in for something else so didn’t do a proper diagnostics on this.

New to me Audi A5 - keep hearing different things on what is the best oil to use. Car is currently at 76k miles and I would like to do a full engine oil change.

Was told to use C5 0w-20 VW APPROVED but others say 5W-30. Not sure what is best.

Edit: Live in the UK if that makes a difference depending on weather

Edit 2: It’s a petrol 2.0L 40 TFSI EA888.3 engine (EA888 Gen 3) - Audi spec is VW 504 00
