Kiwame Tokyo - Yane Enji

Latest Kiwame Tokyo model just dropped, and promptly sold out immediately. I was able to snag one in each color, will decide which one I like better in person then sell the other one at cost. Think these are really cool, looking forward to them arriving in a few months!

[Longines Hydroconquest 39mm] Just arrived in the mail

Got a look in person at one of these a couple weeks ago in NYC and ultimately pulled the trigger earlier in the week. Found one in stock at a random jeweler in Norman OK. Love the 39mm size on my 7.1” wrist and really enjoying the mesh bracelet. I think this one will be going to the top of the rotation for a while.

[Tissot PRX / Seiko SSB479 / Moonswatch / SOTC] Uhhh collection expanded meaningfully today, this is a problem

So I added three watches to the collection today, which was very much not my intention when I woke up. Seiko SSB479 arrived in the mail this afternoon from Jomashop. I stuck it on an elastic strap until I can be bothered to size the bracelet. For ~$300 I think this is amazing value, looks great and I expect this will be a regular in the rotation.

Then I made the mistake of going to the mall. Stopped by the swatch store and really liked the all white Mission to Moonphase - Full Moon, decided to buy it and was feeling pretty good about the night. Then right as I was heading to the car I stopped into a new independent jeweler. They had a good Tissot collection and I've been eyeing the Gold PRX for a while, was clearly feeling super impulsive so took that home too. I can see why the PRX has been so popular now, fits my 7.1" wrist very well and will hopefully keep the gold itch satisfied for a while.

Watch box now overflowing, the Casios and Timex have been banished out of the box...

Filled up the watch box

Got back into the hobby recently after not buying a watch for ~10 years, the collection has been expanding rapidly. Collection in order I acquired them:

  • Timex Ironman: ~2011, acquired for strictly functional purposes
  • Shinola Runwell 41mm: 2014, received as a Christmas present
  • Nomos Glashütte Tangente Ref. 101: 2016, my first mechanical watch and will probably keep it forever. I love the clean aesthetic and how thin it is.
  • Excelsior Park Chronograph, 1950s vintage. Dial double signed with Zivy & Cie: 2017, probably my favorite watch I own. Dial is in amazing shape and I love the blued hands.
  • Raymond Weil Ref. 5574/1: ~2017, my father wore this watch for most of my childhood. It's a simple gold plated quartz watch, that is frankly too small for my wrist, but it makes me think of my dad.
  • Nomos Glashütte Metro Ref. 1101: 2025, the watch that got me back into watches. Impulse purchase at the Frankfurt airport duty free. Really been enjoying it lately on a Nato strap. Wore it at my wedding this spring (on a black leather strap ofc)
  • Moonswatch Mission to the Moon: 2026, I've been surprised at how much I've enjoyed this. It's just really fun. I'd always thought 42mm would be too large but it actually fits really well. Make me want to get a real Speedmaster, which I probably will at some point.
  • Casio A168WG-9VT: 2026, I've always avoided bracelet watches, so I got this almost as a test to see how I'd like wearing a metal bracelet, and how I'd like wearing a gold-color watch. I actually think the gold works really well, and haven't minded the bracelet too much, even if it does grab my arm hairs a lot. I think I'll always generally prefer a strap to a bracelet, but I'd be open to acquiring more watches with bracelets in the future
  • Hamilton Masterpiece Automatic, 1975 vintage: 2026, recent acquisition. This was a GM corporate gift to an employee for 25 years of service, which I find fun. It looks like the original owner just put it in a drawer as it looks almost brand new. Fun watch I'm looking forward to wearing more
  • Casio AE1200WH-1A: 2026, GOD TIER!!! Just picked up today and on my wrist now.

That's where I currently stand. I've been going down youtube rabbit holes on Seiko mods and am thinking about putting together a diver, as that's a noticeable gap in my current collection. Somehow I doubt this case will be big enough for long. I rotate through most of them pretty regularly, trying to match what's on my wrist to activity / what I'm wearing but the Timex, Shinola and Raymond Weil probably see the least usage.
