your tried and true tinted spfs?

y’all.. call me silly but i only just discovered that tinted spfs help protect from visible light 😅 this is a huge deal for me because i struggle with super sensitive melasma. even tho it’s become a lot lighter than when i started my k-skin journey, i am still constantly obsessing over it. i’m getting ready to re-up my spf stock and am curious which korean tinted sunscreens you’ve tried, like and why.

i am 35 with sensitive combo skin that currently leans on the oilier side thanks to breaking my caffeine abstinence

drama subtitles ?

i don’t know if this is the right place to ask but i wonder if anyone else learning or who fluently speaks korean might relate..

is it just me, or does anyone else have a thing with korean to english subtitles (specifically referring to n-flix and a-prime as i haven’t watched them anywhere else—is the same for all streamers)? i am aware korean vs english grammatical sentence structure is different. so that probably accounts for most of it. but why do they have to add so many filler words for the english subtitles? even as a native english speaker, i never realized just how many filler words we use until i started learning korean! i know the subtitles are technically(/logically?) correct. i’m not saying they are wrong. but it’s almost like i’m reading a book when i’m watching a drama. the best way i could describe it is being very distracting. i just wish they had an additional option for english subtitles that are translated literally word for word, without any filler words. maybe even without the grammatical sentence restructuring too.

does anyone relate?

honestly, i got so fed up with it, i don’t even watch them with the subtitles anymore. it can definitely be difficult sometimes but i feel like it challenges my brain a little more trying to translate the words i do recognize with what is depicted in the picture. if that makes any sense? not sure if i’m explaining it well 😅 and if there’s something i absolutely cannot understand i open p-go (dunno if we can say the whole names here) and figure it out. i have no idea whether or not it aids my learning, but i appreciate the challenge

what do y’all think? any and all thoughts welcome!

edit; you know how there are all the “i made a translating app” ads? i would truly appreciate if someone developed one that translated korean (or all languages) to english subtitles word for word without grammar restructure and worked with all streaming services. wouldn’t that be a dream? 😻

any used osaka ebisu?

has anyone heard of or shopped with osaka ebisu? they’re located in chicago, which makes me wonder if they’re new because i visit family up there all the time and i never heard of them.. maybe i’m just not in the loop as much as i thought i was lol. anyway, that would mean their shipping is hopefully fast right? i saw them on someone’s YT and found their website, and TT. they don’t have a TT shop, just the regular marketing profile and website. i’m tempted to send my partner down to visit them for me to see if their website is legit lol he’s staying in chicago rn

has anyone purchased from here;

i was wondering if anyone has purchased from this tiktok seller K-Beauty4-U? they seem to have decent ratings and reviews. their crazy low prices, specifically for the reedle shots and ksecret retinal, is making me feel like they might be too good to be true. if you’ve ordered from them would you mind sharing your experience? tysm!

EDIT;
guys i’m not looking for advice on whether or not to shop on tiktok. i do use other sellers like stylekorean and yesstyle. but did you know that stylekorean and yami are both also on tiktok shop? so is iherb. there’s nothing wrong with it, i’ve used tiktok shop for years as long as i bought from official stores everything was legit. never even ever received a used item like we all have from amazon.

i only want to know if anyone has ever bought from the store K-Beauty4-U. not your opinions on tiktok shop please!!

까딱 : ?

i think learned a new word today, 까떡. but i have no clue what it means 😹 in the show, the guy was moving one eyebrow up and down playfully. and the subtitles said “flicking”. but when i put in my standard phone translator, it said “katak”, which i guess literally makes sense 🤷🏻‍♀️ but what is katak? lol. then i put in popago, and it said “with a snap” which actually makes more sense to me as far as “flicking” is concerned. so which is it? tia!

finally!

after almost two months, the restriction was finally lifted!! here’s how;

last month i made a public post (shown in picture 3) with the following accounts tagged @社区客服薯 @薯队长 @薯管家 with the text “please help” and photos of what my account looked like to me (public) and to my friends (private). within 24 hours i received a message from @社区客服薯 (picture 4), but the message was in a folder titled “from strangers you don’t know” with a red speech bubble icon next to it. the message asked for my response in detail exactly what was happening and what i needed assistance with. i explained that i diligently followed the app rules, have not ever received a violation or suspension, that my views dropped, and that none of my friends were receiving the comments i posted on their notes. not long after sending it, i received a reply that they are forwarding my complaint to others who could help address the issue.

i never heard back, but 5 days ago i received a message from the system (where the surveys are usually sent). i thought this message was just informing me of a new policy as it stated some features are not available in my region anymore. i took a second look at it and tapping it like you tap to open the surveys, brought me to a more detailed page with a button at the bottom. i don’t remember exactly what it said but it was along the lines of “verify” or “verification”. i tapped it, and it brought me to a captcha like box. upon completing the task, my screen refreshed and i received a notice a few seconds later that the restriction was lifted (pictures 2 and 1)!

immediately after that, i started receiving a flood of messages of people liking and replying to comments i had left on their notes weeks ago but that they couldn’t see during the restriction. i made a test post, and sure enough, my friends in china could finally see me again!

so whoever worked their tookis off to help us out with this issue and assist us in getting the restriction lifted, THANK YOU!! 🥰💕💕 and i hope this helps others who are trying to accomplish the same thing

modeling mask

i love modeling masks, but has anyone found a way to apply everything in the cup without it freezing on you? every time i use one i feel like i’m in the indy 500 and at least 1/3-1/4 of it goes to waste 😩

hey y’all, i’m a little confused about this.. both 没关系 and 没什么 translate as “it doesn’t matter”, right? so, do they have different meanings in context? or is it just a different way of saying the same thing?
