Hello! I've got a 2019 Tucson with 129,000km/80,000 miles on it (in Canada). I've documented the vehicle burning oil very fast (seemingly more than 1qt in 750km/less than 500 miles. I took it into the dealer on Tuesday, they advised that they known of the issue with this engine, and that they would first have to do a scope of the cylinders (out of pocket) and then, if no scoring was present, they would need to a couple of cylinder cleaning services (also out of pocket), ensure that the vehicle is still burning oil, and then they would submit to Hyundai for Warranty. I do have (don't judge me) extended warranty from Hyundai up to 8 years, 160,000km, so I'm inside that window and the lifetime warranty as it relates to the Theta II.

Now - I'm no expert on the service bulletins - but can someone help me understand the order of operations here? As far as I can tell, an oil consumption test should have been done first, and then a scope (maybe) and finally a cleaning, etc - but that should all be covered, shouldn't it?

They were also making claims that I will probably have trouble with warranty because I do my own maintenance; which I can absolutely do as per Canadian Law. These service bulletins, apparently, state that I need only one oil change in the past year, but I do mine every 6mo/~6,000km.

I’m looking to head down to take part in the Last Mile to BC Place - but then, I’m looking for somewhere to watch the game with the best atmosphere.

From what I read - there’s no way to do the march at 9:45; and then make it to the PNE to get a spot in the Amphitheater, as people are saying you should be lined up before they open at 10am.

What other spots would be good? Should I just go and try, and if not, hit up one of the other spots with screens in the PNE? Should I try Canada Soccer House in the Shhipyards?

How do we feel about these Winter Tires? Driven probably 35,000km in Vancouver, BC. Roughly 4.5mm (closer to 5mm in most areas) left (5.5/32nd) left.

I walked in at 11am for a test drive; I said, is it possible to have an extended test drive by chance? They said, here you go, bring it back tomorrow morning.
