Third Appeal. Advice?

Third Appeal. Advice?

With my second appeal, I wrote a letter that I turned in by hand to my local disability office begging for help because of how bad my SI has gotten especially with working. My mental health has made my entire life hell. Working always ends in a mental breakdown and me being fired/quitting. My therapist, psychiatrist, former EMDR therapist, and former vocational counselor wrote letters heavily in my favor. They were shocked when Disability of course denied me and told me to try working again lol.

I’m going to brutally honest. I’m very close to snapping. Multiple times a day I fantasize about going into the local office and sh’ing in front of them since they won’t believe how bad my mental health is. I’d rather not do this. But with my mental health declining I tend to get more and more impulsive. My determination to not break 10 years without SH has been holding me off from SH. Surprise, mental health issues make it difficult to operate rationally.

I have a diagnosis for PTSD, major depression, anxiety. My therapist, who is autistic, strongly believes I have ASD. I had an assessment three years ago done by an intern who gave me the PTSD assessment but not ASD (my therapist reviewed it agrees that I have PTSD but also noticed a lot of inconsistencies in this persons report).

I’m looking to get another assessment for ASD. I believe this should help my chances? I started my third appeal but am thinking of waiting to submit until I have an appt or finished paperwork? Also. If anyone knows of people who will do an adult assessment and take Virginia medicaid please let me know. I literally don’t have the money or income for a payment plan.

I also spent all my savings while not working during my second appeal. Unfortunately I don’t have rich family to help, but I also don’t qualify for SNAP and relief programs because I live with my roommate and my partner. So I HAVE to work to pay bills and it is actually killing me. I work 10 hrs a week walking dogs. You’d think it’d be good for my mental health right? Well it’s not. Every day is hell. I’m so tired of it. It’s been a month. I can barely find the motivation or appetite to eat one meal a day and have already lost 10lbs. The sensory aspect is one of the worst parts of this job and… well, every job I had. Lowkey I was hoping the exercise and lack of socialization would make it doable for me but now on top of being overwhelmed, miserable, and broke, I’m too exhausted for anything else. Had to drop EMDR therapy because I’m survival mode again. Yay.

Ao another question. Would working 10/hr a week at 15/hr in VA mess up my chances? Because I literally don’t have any other choice unless I want to become homeless. I won’t even be able to make rent this month lol. At this point Im looking at ways to work under the table even if it includes SW. im running out of opinions. I have nothing in savings, $400 in my account, and I own a 2015 Subaru (hand me down) that I thought of selling but if I sell it idk if i’ll ever be able to get a decent car again.

What will it take? Will I have to end up in the psych ward again before they believe me? Will a lawyer really help that much? I’m afraid I could use every dollar. Thank you for reading all of this. Any advice is appreciated. I’m attaching the reasoning for denial. Funny enough, the vocational service (which I am no longer a client of) that urged me to apply to disability in the first place never submitted the paperwork for the appeal. Not that they care at all.

It gets better is the biggest lie

I’ve been waiting for it to get better since I was a child

All the therapy, dbt, cbt, medication, etc, in the world cannot make it better

The older you get, the worse it gets. I wish people wouldn’t spread this lie

Just because life got better for YOU doesn’t mean anything

Had to stop EMDR therapy. Heartbroken

After fighting for months to get EMDR and starting the process with a great therapist I had to stop EMDR because of my shit circumstances (poverty and survival mode).

This and trauma work were my hope to break out of the cycle and actually improve my mental health. I had high hopes. We only got to the desensitization stage of one target. We couldnt even finish one target.

All because i’m in survival mode again. Disability won’t approve me. Now I have to go back to work which is a huge trigger of my severe ptsd, depression, and worse symptoms. My primary therapist has been gently hinting that inpatient is the best option for me right now because my bad thoughts are back, but I can’t do that because i’m broke, have bills, just started a new job. She encouraged me to stop EMDR for now because I’m so unstable.

Idk. If I was rich, I could actually focus on my mental health like a full time job. Maybe I could actually become better. Maybe I could achieve being a functioning adult instead of a 31 year old man that cries because of work. But I’m poor. I don’t have that option.

If I could change anything, I would have gone harder to get more care when I had the chance. I wouldn’t apply to disability and would just squeeze unemployment for everything they got while doing emdr and maybe an inpatient or outpatient program. But it’s too late now. I’m back to just trying to get through the day. Fuck my stupid fucking life

What it’s like to try and “be okay”

I’m so tired of trying and getting nowhere

Sometimes I feel like a creature not meant for this reality

I’m applying to jobs again

Long story short I have had really bad experiences with employment my entire adult life on top to awful PTSD from childhood events. Last year, I was fired for being trans, and I went through all the avenues, but there was nothing I could do in the end.

I had a really rough time after that with a lot of very low lows. Very, very low. In that time I got more support with therapy and various community services. I had a temp position that helped but my contract expired March, and after that I really struggled with the idea of starting again.

I still have a very intense fear of returning to work and starting again. But after more therapy and conversations with friends and my partner, I feel encouraged and strong enough to try again. Yes, I’ve cried multiple times while searching and applying, but I’m doing it. I’m afraid, because my dominant experience is bad with bad things happening to my mental health, but I’m trying to focus on the couple good experiences I HAVE had and hoping for a good enough experience going forward. Idk. I just want a job where the work environment is kind and consistent. It feels impossible to find, but somehow, I managed to get my courage up..

Anyways. It seems really silly I guess but I am proud of applying to really basic part-time jobs near me. Please praise and encourage me! I could really use it for when my brain wants to tell me to run and avoid and so on

3D Kandi Fruits!

List of fruits left to right: Orange, Strawberry, Lychee, Lime, Lemon, Blackberry, Blue Raspberry (lol), Grape, Blueberry, Cherry, Plum, Watermelon, Green and Red Apples, Pineapple, Mango, Peach.

I accidentally got stiff cording when I first got into the hobby and found out I can make spheres and fruits with it using this guide here and for some fruits I just added/changes things to his design. It probably would have been MUCH easier to do this with elastic cording like in the guide but the stiff cording worked even if it was kinda a pain to work with. I think it took 2 weeks of on and off work to finish all of them.

The blueberry and pineapple are my favorites, they came out good imo and were satisfying to see come together. I also tried to make a pear but failed lmao. Sorry pears. Idk what I will do with them, they are cute as is so maybe I’ll just keep them as trinkets or maybe make some into keychains to give to friends.

New to Kandi, What I made so far

About a month ago I picked up some beads and string on impulse. I wanted to pick up a new analog hobby that would help combat my doomscrolling and I really love it so far! Next I want to make a lizard keychain.
