I have a sweet neighbour in my hometown. She was like an elder sister to me. She got married five years ago and now has a cute little daughter. Recently she called my dad to help her file a FIR against her husband. She also came up to me to share her story. I'll share her story and keep everyone anonymous so as to help other women stay cautious.

The story started when she met a village guy who lived near her town. The guy was a self proclaimed medical practitioner like we see in many villages, good-mannered, decent and used to work with his father in his village. His father was a mbbs doctor and had a medical clinic there, he used to work as a pharmacist guy, came to town for certain treatments and restocking medicines. (I don't know much about their love story). Two years after relationship they decided to get married, she cleared her stand before marriage that she is a city girl and she won't be able to live with her in laws in a village as comfortably, would want him to shift to the city with her. He agreed and promised that he would buy her a flat in city so she won't face any problems.

(This happens in many bengali household where married couples do not usually stay with each other's parents but independently)

First one year of marriage, she had to stay with her in laws in village doing every household chores, bath the cows, work with cow dung and everything because her husband was looking for a flat in city in the meantime and wasn't able to afford it. So he asked her for her marriage's gold jewellery worth 30 lakhs at that time (now it will be in crores) and she happily agreed thinking she will finally own a flat.

Her husband legit bought the flat in city moved her and her new born daughter there. Upto one year everything was fine then suddenly she heard him getting distant, he used to chat with someone often and giggle. She started getting suspicious. Later on, she caught him cheating with another woman from village. This is when her husband got furious and started abusing her physically. After months of abuse and torture, her husband kicked her and her daughter out of their flat and stopped giving any money for his own daughter as well.

The most shocking part is, now she found out that the apartment he bought with her gold jewellery was named after his mother not her. This is literally such a heartbreaking story for us. She looked black and blue when she came to us crying and saying that her husband is demeaning her for asking alimony now. Her daughter is a 3 year old kid who looks traumatized.

I am sharing this to let people know that no matter what, never let your partner have financial dominance on you because you never know what might happen once you give them your everything and stay away from guys who give subtle signs of misogyny, like being completely against alimony, laughing at sexist jokes because you never know how bad can they be as a person when you get married.

How is the placement, hostel and everything in NIT Jamshedpur? Tell me your experiences. Positives and negatives. Also I really wanna know all factors but I have seen other posts where people just ask score and category and move on without any info and just ask to dm. So it'll be helpful if someone's explains everything in this comment section for everyone to get equal access to the info

I'm 22(F) now , when I was 14-F yr old I was in a relationship with a 21-M yr old guy who was in college. The relationship continued for 5 years. He was preparing for IIM while doing his job, just before getting into one of the top three IIM after three attempts, he left me , technically made me leave him by constantly insulting me, breaking my confidence and talking about losing his chance with better girls in life because of me. I broke up because of the disrespect. Two months later, he moved on to a new girl, she was the HR of his company. They got physical within a month of relationship (which I didn't in 5 years cause obviously I was a teenager) and started a live in relationship. After 6 months of their relationship he came back to me saying he misses me and all, we stayed in touch , got romantic and even was about to be back again when I got to know about his new girlfriend from him only (the audacity), sometimes I regret not telling this to his gf but maybe she deserves it cause she was also not hesitant to get in relationship within a month or two with a guy who just broke up from a 5 year relationship or may be they cheated when he was with me who knows, he started behaving weird just about the time she joined his office.

Three years later in 2026, he is earning in lakhs, living the life, with his HR gf of three years while I am here who achieved nothing in life and wasted 5 years of my prime years in relationship. tl;dr I would advice young people to not waste your time in relationship, real world is cruel so it is better to have self respect, self love and work on yourself.
