It's hollow in the middle. You speak at one end and hear what you said at the other end. It helps children learn to talk and read.
This was the first print that I designed myself. I may have made the walls a little too thick, but I learned a lot making it, and it was lots of fun.
Hello all. I know I have been keeping in the background lately. I wish I could say it's because I am working on restocking the store, but honestly, August has been a bear.
I have a 3D printer now. I have ideas for some yoyo accessories. Many of them would be free gifts for purchasing string. Others would be sold at my Etsy shop as a make-on-request status.
As for sting, I have a very hot new color blend that is quietly becoming my favorite.
I hope to have some stock of all the colors by the end of the month.

I am toying with the idea of making a small drawer in the back to store string and other stuff.
It also feels like it's a lot for my first print. I have some ideas for knot pickers that I'm going to try first because they are mostly flat.

Well, I'm technically a co-owner with my father-in-law. He wants to make things for his model train setup.
My wife is not happy and said I can't unbox it till I get a vent system installed. I should have it ready to run by the weekend.
Still just messing around with the 3d software. I worked up this space rocket yoyo stand. My wife says it looks nothing like a rocket, and she might be right. :D I thought it was cool enough to share.

I have to admit that many of the shots are very blurry and unusable.
I did find shooting it very enjoyable, and some of the shots came out nice.
I was also very impressed by the video and audio quality, but I find it crashes my video player from time to time, so not sure if that's my computer or it.
It's a fun one to carry around, though maybe not in my pocket because it shot a lot of pocket shots and almost killed the battery.
9/10 for look
7/10 for fun
5/10 for photo quality
3/10 for reliability
I plan to carry it around till it bricks, and I'll then use it as a Christmas ornament.

I was planning to do a video, but it's hard to find quiet time with two little juggernauts running around. π
I made an order for a Pizza Klassm, a responsive bi-plastic yoyo with a machined polycarbonate body and printed caps. I love the classic feel of this one. It was so awesome of Wayne to print me a Red Pand cap. π₯π₯π₯
The blue slim hybrid unresponsive yoyo is stunning! It doesn't have a name yet, but he has a write-up of it on his Instagram. Keep an eye out for these after Worlds. π
I love the shape of the yellow one. This one is also nameless. It's in the prototype stage right now, but I have to admit I strung this one up first and I really dug the feel. β€οΈ

I was already very impressed with the quality of Wayne's printed yoyos (Zepheus on the left) from Layer Infinity, but one truly doesn't understand a process till you get your hands dirty doing it.
I jumped into 3D printing (my yoyo on the right) coming from the world of machine tools. I quickly found out that 3D-printed items are not a 1-to-1 in terms of dimensions, and it takes a lot of experimentation to get something of quality.
My hat really goes off to Wayne u/wayne927 for all the hard work he puts into making his amazing yoyos. He has some gorgeous looking yoyos in development so keep an eye on his site Layer Infinity. π₯β€οΈπ₯

So I have been messing around with 3d printing a yoyo, and i need some advice.
I am starting small and only printing the bearing seat for right now. Until I figure that out, I'll build a full test yoyo later.
I failed to take into account that heated plastic shrinks, and all of my measurements are off. The bearing seat im printing is only 32mm (diameter). Does the shrinkage change if it's a bigger diameter?
My base is also deformed.
Would I need to print on a support?
Also, would printing at an angle be a better move?
I'm thinking of adding a white string to my stock.
Are there white string fans out there?
I was also thinking maybe white with a strip of a color.
What do you think?
Working on some brighter colors.
The left is orange/hot pink and the right is a yellow/hot pink.
I prioritize feel over color, and it's been hard to get the right feel with some of the brighter color threads I have.
The orange/hot pink has a nice soft feel. The yellow/hot pink is a bit more dense, but I have an idea to soften that up a bit.
Which one do you like?
