Dex on chromecast ? Why not :D

Dex on chromecast ? Why not :D

I built a feature on my app that kinda does this :D Really close for a new release, right now it works well but it has a small delay, and I'm working on creating a custom receiver for the chromecast so we'll be no more than 1-2 frames behind

Lmk if you're interested in a feature like this :D

Yet another Dex on the phone's screen app

Hello, I am presenting you yet another Dex on the phone's screen app. I know there are like more than 10 already out there and if you're one of those trying to tell me that, I really do know.

Why? Because I wanted something simple, without a thousand settings and quick access so I created this app. It's free, open source, you can update/modify/build it yourself.

I've build other open source apps with great communities so I think this is a good start for another one :D

So what's different still from the other dozen apps?
Simple - we have 2 sliders in the overaly settings that control resolution and DPI that will update instantly
- I've created a daemon that runs in the background so once an ADB session is aquired we can connect as many times as we want to the Dex mode without needing wireless ADB on and so on ( once / boot is enough )
- You set it once, the rest goes automatically
- I've created a quick access button so we can toggle it on faster
- I've even created a widget again for quick launch

Yet, it's not perfect. It needs testing, a loving community and some more people recommending it.

Who am I and what recommends me? https://alexandru.rocks a software engineer that created the "HIT" app for bikes called OpenCFMoto that has over 35k downloads and a community of over 1300 contributors on Discord.

So if you want to find more about this app please check the github repo at:

Thank you! :D

Anyone with a TRK 702/702X free to test Android Auto instead of Carbit Ride?

Hey TRK 702 / 702X riders!

Looking for one or two owners willing to test a free community app that may replace Carbit Ride with real wireless Android Auto (Google Maps / Waze / media) on the 5″ TFT.

Your bike already has the Carbit Ride path:

• bike stopped → hold ENTER ~3s → wireless / pairing screen → QR

That’s the same Carbit EasyConnect-style stack used on CFMoto MotoPlay and a few other brands. OpenCfMoto works there for many riders, but Benelli is not confirmed yet — so this is a real test request, not a “works for sure” claim.

What I’m asking:

  1. Install OpenCfMoto (Android 10+)

  2. Close Carbit Ride ( Force close it )

  3. Open the dash QR (ENTER 3s)

  4. Tap Connect / scan the QR

  5. Tell me what happens (success, fail, or weird Wi‑Fi/hotspot behaviour)

Especially useful if you can share:

• a photo of the QR screen (SSID / model bits are fine; you can blur serials)

• a short log from the app if it fails

Links:

• App / releases: https://github.com/zanderp/open-cfmoto

• Discord (fastest for logs): https://discord.gg/xRt5yZy2U

Not affiliated with Benelli, Carbit, or Google. Use at your own risk — set a route before you ride.

If you’ve already tried Carbit Ride and hated it, you’re exactly who this is for. Drop a comment or DM if you’re up for a 10‑minute test.

Wireless Android Auto on Moto Morini (Carbit / MotoFun dash) — community confirmed

Hey — sharing for X-Cape / Moto Morini riders who dislike the stock Carbit / MotoFun projection.

A rider from our Discord (Alojzy) just confirmed OpenCfMoto working on a Moto Morini X-Cape 700: wireless Android Auto on the bike dash over Wi‑Fi (Google Maps / Waze / media, touch or controls depending on the unit). Same Carbit EasyConnect-style pairing QR path that CFMoto MotoPlay uses — no root, no PC, no T‑BOX.

Quick check on your bike:

  1. Open the phone-connection / MotoFun / EasyConnect screen

  2. If you see a pairing QR → worth trying Connect

  3. Android phone, Android 10+

It’s a free community project (not affiliated with Moto Morini, Carbit, CFMoto, or Google). Use at your own risk — set your route before you ride.

• Discord (setup help + bike reports): https://discord.gg/xRt5yZy2U

• Supported bikes notes: https://github.com/zanderp/open-cfmoto/blob/main/docs/SUPPORTED-BIKES.md

If anyone else runs X-Cape 650/700 (or Calibro / Seiemmezzo with the same dash), drop a reply or a Discord log — happy to mark more Morini models as confirmed.

Not just yet another CFMOTO android connect app - Welcome Open CFMoto

Hello guys! So I saw this boom of CFMoto connect apps, like mushrooms after the rain ( a popular saying here :)) ). I did not find them complete or to be working as I needed so I took the liberty to create yet another one with the functionality I need.

The app I designed is based on the dcoletto/open-cfmoto base + richardbizik/open-cfmoto and BojanJ/open-cfmoto, more details below on this.

What's different:

  • Multi-touch that works - pinch-to-zoom on Maps on the dash, not just single taps.
  • Support for non-touch units - added an in-app Dpad + a way to input the maps location.
  • One-tap connect + auto-connect - it recognizes your bike's wifi and just starts. No re-scanning the QR every time.
  • Auto-reconnect + seamless resume - stop at a light, park for a coffee, phone in the tank bag with the screen off... when the bike comes back it reconnects on its own.
  • Trip computer - auto-logs your rides with a list + a map of where you went.
  • Smart resolution - it reads the dash's screen size and picks the right resolution/orientation itself, so it fills the screen properly instead of a squished box. Note here that it might require a reconnect after the initial pairing since I took the resolution from the first connection, at that point the Android Auto is already started in the background and it's a bit convoluted to restart it. I guess this is something I can improve in the future.
  • Battery/heat tuning - I've designed a way to reduce the frames sent to the HUD and to select a smaller resolution, this way the processor and GPU won't work that hard, making it a bit better, also if you park for a long time the Android Auto will be closed and reopened just when the app detects the bike's access point.
  • In-app logs - if something breaks you can grab a log and actually see why (handy for helping me fix other bikes).

I've tested it on the 800MT Explore and 1000 MT-X. Other models should work but might need a retry here and there - if it misbehaves on yours, send me a log and I'll try to sort it. Set your nav before you ride, obviously. ALSO a big NOTE if the app doesn't connect to the HUD, try switching from Android to iOS and viceversa on the HUD that will trigger an AP refresh.

Credit where it's due - I did not build this from nothing. It stands on the work of people who reverse-engineered the CFMOTO link and the Android Auto plumbing before me:

Repo + APK: https://github.com/zanderp/open-cfmoto
Direct download: https://github.com/zanderp/open-cfmoto/releases/latest/download/OpenCfMoto.apk
Clip of it running on my dash is attached. Would love feedback, and if it works (or blows up) on your model let me know which one - trying to get it better.

Discord channel: https://discord.gg/xRt5yZy2U

P.S. You can find screenshots of the app on my git repo. PRs are welcomed. If you have improvement ideas you can use the Discord channel or the GitHub issues to pass them to me.

I hope this will help you as much as it does help me :D I already took it for a spin 2 days in a row now and for me it's more than ok :D

And NO, writing properly doesn't mean AI, I am a software engieer and yes, I've used some AI in the code.

EDIT: I've added support for NON-TOUCH devices. Now we have a DPAD inside the app and we can use media buttons and star/ok button to select.

EDIT #2: Confirmed working on US models as well.

EDIT #3: Confirmed working on CFMoto 150SC scooter 😄

EDIT #4: You can buy me a coffee at https://ko-fi.com/alexandrupopa

EDIT #5: we have a built in navigation inside the app and to use phisical buttons you need to connect the phone to the bike's bluetooth and enable the control via buttons in the control page. We even have a full screen HUD mirror that let's you interact directly with the AA via your phone touchacreen.
