Repost: Cloud Strife Nom Nom Figures

Finished painting Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. The model is from Nom Nom Figures, and overall I’m pretty happy with how Cloud himself turned out.

I tried to keep the colors fairly close to his classic look while still getting enough contrast in the dark clothing. The skin and hair were also good practice for me.

I’m still not pleased with the base. I think I went too intense with the white/gray highlights and it draws too much attention away from Cloud. I’m thinking about going back and toning it down.

Would love some feedback, especially on how you’d improve the base without completely repainting it.

Primed and ready for paint

I absolutely love the quality of this printer. This is such a fun and addictive hobby.

Any idea why this base keeps failing?

Any idea why this base keeps failing? The supports print just fine, but this is the second time I've printed and only got support and not the model. I'm using the presupported file. But I think that the next time around I will use my own supports. I plan on going medium with the sphere attachment mode. Everything else prints just fine, it's just the base that is failing consistently.

Any other tips?

The tolerances are fine on all of my other prints but I seem to be having consistent issues with all of my bases. Everything else lines up perfectly but I’m always getting issue with spaces between the bases. Any idea?

This was my first time using a resin printer. A lot of people tend to complain about how much of a hassle it is, but I’m glad to say that I found it pretty painless. I had a few issues with foreign matter detected ( I forgot to lock the build plate) and a failed print because like a dummy I forgot to clean the build plate. But after some trial and error I was able to dial in my settings and get something that I’m really happy with. I’ve been doing a ton of reading and research but if you all have any tips please send them my way. Thanks!
