Looking to chat with new people. Not looking for anything romantic. I love watching football, going to concerts, watching movies.

Turning 50 later this month

2026 has not been kind to me. I’ve had to put my parents in Assisted Living and unexpectedly lost my boyfriend of 8 years due to complications from Covid. I’m hoping turning 50 will be a new chapter of healing for me.

Saw an apparition last night

My boyfriend passed away in April and he keeps sending me specific signs that are things only he knows or has talked about. Last night after dark, my daughter and I were driving home and were just a few feet from the driveway and we both saw a small white misty cloud materialize and then it disappeared. I’m wondering if it’s him because we lived together with my kids for over 8 years. Anyone have similar experiences or thoughts?

Just lost my Boyfriend a Month Ago

Just lost my boyfriend of 8 years to complications from Covid. He was only 46. Just looking for words of encouragement that things will get easier.

So much Trauma

I’ve had so many tragedies in my life and at 49 YO, I’m wondering how much more I can take. I lost my boyfriend to Covid complications a month ago and was in a serious car accident a little over a week ago. I already had a nervous breakdown in 2021, which I thought was rock bottom. Just looking for words of encouragement that things will get better.

My 46 YO boyfriend got Covid in early March and had never had it before. He immediately became sick and was in a lot of pain. He was taking extra strength Tylenol and Ibuprofen and was taking more than what the maximum amount was on the bottle. He did this for about 5 weeks not realizing that he was slowly poisoning himself. He ended up vomiting blood and I had to get an ambulance. Within 2 weeks his liver failed and then his kidneys. They put him on dialysis and a ventilator and he seemed to improve for a couple days. Then a week ago last Wednesday, he took a turn for the worse and started bleeding internally again. Because his liver was failing, he could no longer clot his blood. His parents made the tough decision to take him off the machines and let him pass peacefully.

When I was visiting in his last hours, I told him I would see him again one day and to please give me a sign if he’s watching down on me.

While I was visiting him one time. I played some music he liked and sang Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd to him while holding his hand.

Last Sunday the song came on the radio. I know in my heart it was him. During the funeral on a cloudy day, the sun began to shine bright while Amazing Grace was playing. Finally, my boyfriend served 19 years in the Navy Special Warfare division and twice while I was playing Scrabble on my phone against a random opponent the word Valor was spelled. It means heroic bravery during battle. I had never seen this word played before and to have it happen twice in one week seems like more than a coincidence.

I miss him terribly, but I take comfort in knowing he’s looking down on me. Thanks for listening.
