First time in the alps for two advanced skiers?

My boyfriend and I are looking to travel to the alps for a week or so in mid or late January. We are both ski instructors in Colorado and want to spend as much time skiing as we can! I’ve been looking for high-altitude, snow-sure resorts with a decent selection of steep runs, ski-in ski-out accommodation, and a fun aprés scene for two twenty-somethings, and ideally not too crowded. I have been leaning towards Obertauern after reading some good things but I would love to hear some suggestions if you have any, thanks!

Thinking of deleting Reddit unless conditions improve

Like many of you, I deleted instagram ages ago for the betterment of my heart and soul and it’s been great. I now spend my time online primarily on reddit and I’ve noticed my experience degrading. I try to curate my feed by muting communities that piss me off and joining communities I like, but when I’m mindlessly browsing, I tend to click on and read through the content that ultimately leaves me feeling upset rather than the cooler things on my feed, which I usually only devote a little bit of time to. I’m not sure if this is a fault in my character or a feature of human nature, but I can’t seem to shake my attraction to negativity, and there’s so much negativity here (and by here I mean reddit, not so much r/rs_x. This is the one of the few subreddits I’d miss I think). I have a pretty neutral ratio of positive to negative interactions with other users, but the negative ones tend to stick around in my mind throughout the day more. At least on instagram things felt more fun, I was usually pretty dumb and happy scrolling reels if I remember correctly, and not just mad. I think I’d be a good candidate for getting rid of my smartphone entirely, though I do need it for work sometimes. Would I become normal spongebob or would I be really cool for unplugging from all socials? Would it encourage me to read and write and do art more? Hard for me to say. Anyway, thanks for your attention and hopefully commiseration <3

Do you guys remember the “you know I had to do it to ‘em” guy?

Huge meme back in the day. Anyway I used to follow him^^^ on instagram and he followed me back and used to message me when I was in high school. Just realized today that that wasn’t appropriate. Anyway.

Don’t order yarn online while mercury is in retrograde!

I ordered some lovely Knitting for Olive Merino to knit the Marielle Blouse as a birthday present for my best friend about two weeks ago. Now I’ve ordered yarn internationally before and I know it can take a while, but tracking this package has been a doozy.

It only took two days to get the yarn from Denmark to America! It even got to see Jamaica. (Which is apparently in New York, didn’t know that!) Then I saw it got to Denver the next day, only 3 hours away from me, so exciting, I’m going to have my yarn soon! Then nothing happened for a few days… and now it’s in Washington. Overshot me by a thousand miles or so but thats okay, I don’t claim to understand the subtleties of the postal system. It’s farting around in PNW for a while… taking its sweet time, enjoying its weeklong vacation…. aaaaand yesterday it’s back in Denver! Beautiful.

I do hope she at least makes it to me before my friends birthday next week. I did let her know it was going to be a birthday/christmas present but I’m now hoping I’ll get it done before her next birthday at least. Hard to admit that the postal system is more reliable than I am, but it’s a good lesson in having patience for everything, including myself.

Boyfriend was on the phone with his dad who was at a concert with his friends, probably pretty drunk. I was in the other room but after they hung up bf was in kind of an off mood and seemed kind of shocked. I asked what he talked about with his dad and he was holding something back, so I pressed, and he said his dad made an off-comment about how I had small boobs, something like “this girl next to me must have back pain! Unlike [me]”. I was like wtf? That’s creepy as hell. The next day bf called his dad and told him to not make comments like that to him and his dad apologized and agreed, bf didn’t tell his dad that he told me. Now the next time I see him I want to call him a bald headed ugly motherfucker to his face but I am a coward so I’m just going to keep my mouth shut and pretend that didn’t make me incredibly self-conscious. Chicken sausage with chickpeas and peppers and onions

Edit: thank you guys for your support and your very funny ideas for getting back at him, that cheered me up a lot :) I am also very angry that so many of you have experienced something similar, and I hope those experiences haven’t gotten you down on yourselves. I wish I could get back at him but I rarely see him so I feel okay about letting it rest and just doing me, at the end of the day I’m hot as fuck and mogging him just by existing. His opinion doesn’t matter to me at all, but he is a creep and way too comfortable saying his “inside thoughts”. Unfortunately he has a lot of guns, like more guns than anyone I have ever met, so I will think twice about saying what I really think for my own safety. I don’t think he’d shoot me for mouthing off I really don’t but I think he’s overcompensating for SOMETHING with his guns and his fat mouth and I want to give him zero attention. Idk I almost feel sorry for the fucker. It helps me more just to get it off my chest and find solidarity.
