I just bought Audible for the first time! Recommendations?

Hello, all my fellow audiobook readers! Please let me explain my first-ever experience. I never touched a Harry Potter movie, book, or anything at all. I ran into this app because I am trying to find a new hobby due to a life change. A sample of the first Harry Potter book came up, and it was 45 mins, mind you, I am not the type to even read books at all! So I let it play while I prepared breakfast, and it really caught my attention because the voice changes and the sounds in the background blew me away. It's the first time in a while where, after the sample was over, I was left feeling like I had experienced something real. I plan to listen to more books, but use my IPad and draw the basics of the things I am visualizing to keep this feeling alive. I haven't shopped around for anything at all yet. I just jumped here, hoping I can get more people's views on what books carry the same great feeling for them as well. Do all audiobooks do this type of style? Thanks for everything, guys and gals, and I'm looking forward to tapping back into my imagination again : )

African American Hair Locations

Hello and good afternoon, everyone. I am attempting to find where my wife can get her hair done, as we just moved into the area, but there appear to be no places that have experience with locks, braids, sewin, etc. Does anyone know where we can go for these styles? We can't find any and it's making us very sad.

My College Story/Transformation

I grew up in Brookfield, Ohio, where my high school years were shaped by a period of homelessness that began in ninth grade and continued through graduation. I finished with a 1.9 GPA, not due to a lack of ability, but because of the challenges I was facing at the time. For most of my life, I didn’t believe college was an option for me.

That changed when I met my wife, Sarah Chambers, who encouraged me to take a chance on myself. Together, we applied and were accepted into the Gussin Spiritan Division (GSD) program at Duquesne University, an opportunity that completely reshaped my path.

At Duquesne, I discovered both my potential and my passion for cybersecurity. I earned Dean’s List honors every semester and, through scholarships, was able to live on campus and experience a college life I once believed was out of reach. In 2022, I began joining clubs and attending events to build an understanding of college life as a whole. In 2023, I gave many speeches at events on campus to meet others and begin defining who I wanted to be on campus. In 2024, I was honored as the Gussin Spiritan Division Student Ambassador of the Year, which gave me the opportunity to mentor and support other students entering the program. In 2025, I went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic through Duquesne to support a children's youth camp for 9 days. This is where I learned about different cultures and what life looks like for others. In 2026 (for graduation), I was also awarded the Departmental Award in the McAnulty College Cybersecurity Studies BA program. These recognitions reflect not only my academic success, but the journey it took to get there and the people who supported me along the way.

One of the greatest challenges I faced during college was overcoming my fear of Calculus I. I had always told myself, “I’m not a math person,” but I knew this course stood between me and graduating with a double major in computer science. Instead of backing down, I committed fully to meeting with professors daily and putting in the work to understand the material. That experience truly reshaped my mindset and showed me that discipline can overcome self-doubt.

My cybersecurity coursework provided hands-on experience through labs, group projects, and close mentorship. The one-on-one access to professors at Duquesne was especially impactful and helped me discover my passion for Identity and Access Management (IAM) within cybersecurity.

After graduating from Duquesne University, I plan to work as a professional foster parent with Crossnore Communities for Children, where I can support youth while also contributing my technical skills to the local school district through cybersecurity and IT initiatives. During this time, I also plan to pursue an online master’s degree focused on cybersecurity management. My long-term goal is to become an IT Manager and lead with both technical expertise and purpose.

Ps. I GOT CUM LAUDE AWARD

I've been trying to find a side hustle that works my whole life! I started making courses with my cybersecurity and computer science knowledge I gained from my college degree and it's working! I've sold 36 copies on teaching people how to make money with homelabs, AI and things of that nature and it's working out and customers told me they made some money to! It's actually working and I thought I would share this to say NEVER GIVE UP

Recently I started picking up clients for website creation based off the fact I now have a Bachelors of Arts degree in cybersecurity and computer science and I’ve learned web development along the way. I’ve framed my business in a way where people really are enjoying my model that doesn’t follow what most people do. If you’re trying to make money and you don’t mind learning a little bit, reach out to me and I’ll teach you what you need to know to truly make your first 1K from home! It’s fun and the people you’ll work with are awesome. The hardest part is always the visual aspect of making a customer experience what they desire in real life but the challenges are half the fun! Looking forward to chatting soon!

MLB Matchup Win Prediction Web App

This little web app I made takes upcoming MLB matches, compares last year's stats, and gives you a percentage of the predicted winner in a format like the Madden-style interface when selecting a team. I hope someone likes this little app, and I'll post my other projects as well!
