Watching AIB for the first time and I can't stop crying

Guys I started watching AIB yesterday because one of my few really good friends recommended it once and we are not friends anymore.

Anyways, I was at episode 3 of the season 1, the game of 7 hearts and I am literally crying like a baby since the episode has concluded.

Like omg I related to Chota and even arisu a lot and I really liked Karube ...

I have always wished to have friendship like that, and seeing what happened, made me feel like I was living it.

The way karube blows his cigarette for the last time before his neck explodes was soo iconic.

And then arisu breaking down, felt soo personal.

I am not ready to continue with it 😭😭😭😭

Omggg didn't expect it to go this harsh, I might need therapy atp.

Also the way karube tells arisu in the ep 1 that if there has to be a zombie apocalypse or something, he( arisu ) will survive for sure amongst the 3 of them. And the way it comes out true is soo painful.

Sorry for my rant gng

I love how the romanticization of Niragi and Chishiya shatters for live-action fans when they read the manga.

Manga Chishiya isn’t as ‘soft’ as the show version, and manga Niragi isn’t as handsome as his actor. Because of this, those who still like them do so more for their character writing/development rather than romanticized elements, though those still exist. Also love how much more hated Chishiya is by other characters in the manga compared to the live-action. Usagi literally wanting to punch him after what he did to Arisu makes perfect sense. Even though the show made him softer, what he did there was still completely unacceptable

Chishiya's Development

I wanted to talk about Chishiya specifically in episode 7, season 2

I truly felt like Chishiya’s cynicism was a defense against the fact that he felt deeply alone. He projected "everyone is selfish" onto the world so he wouldn't have to face the fact that he desperately wanted to be able to care about people, but he didn't know how. He envied them because they had the freedom to be human, while he felt trapped in his own cold logic

And i just wanted to know how other people felt about this. First time posting here so hopefully my post is clear enough and follows the rules, thanks!

SEASON 3 TRAIN GAME

Does anyone have any guesses on how you would know if the chamber contained poisonous gas or not?

I guessed that the posters were a bit different, but the posters generally had the same theme poisonous or not.>!!<

I'm genuinely curious why episode 3 of season 2 ended up being the highest rated pisode of the series, I thought fs it'd be season 1's

Also funny the first two seasons 3rd episodes are both the highest rated of the show

As we all know the games look fun to play in if you weren't gonna die, so what games would you create if you could play them in real life (without the death part)

This is for a games party Im looking to host

I'm so beyond happy that Arisu's story didn't end with him...

Sacrificing himself and dying.

(Spoilers for Arcane, Squid Game, Stranger Things and The Amazing Digital Circus) Between characters like >!Jinx (likely alive tbf), Gi-hun, Eleven (might be alive but still trash anyways) and recently Jax I hate how many suicidal characters stories end with their sacrifice/death!<

Having Arisu die after he fell into depression from his friend's death and had survivor's guilt would've broken me. I was so scared from the season 3 trailer and especially when the baby came in, we'd get another >!Gi-hun!< ending. I'm so happy that he beat both the games AND his trauma at the end and got a well-deserved happy ending.

The way how Niragi literally flips every scene about what he wants is so comical

“I hate you so much Chishiya, thinking you’re better than me. You disgust me trying to act so moral Arisu!” “Hey guys! My kindred spirit’s, I’m so happy to see you.”

“I want to be hated until the end” “I can’t stand to be alone anymore”

Scoffs when Kuina calls him a “bad guy” only to repeatedly admit that he’s “scum” throughout season 2. Then at the end of the “Even by mistake, don’t you ever call me evil.”

“I‘m grateful you saved my life Tatta” “I’m going to proudly go to Hell” “Actually I decline citizenship”

Season 2 reaction (LOVE IT) (Pls no season 3 spoilers lol)

I just finished season two, and i think it ended with my least favorite and most favorite games immediately back to back. Starting negative, which is funny because i have almost nothing negative to say about this show, but i felt like the king of spades was overall kind of silly. He must have wasted hundreds and hundreds of bullets shooting in their general direction, and somehow hitting nothing. Also the idea that they all survived throughout that whole thing, even being stabbed or shot 10+ times, like ok i guess, but i just felt like most of the games felt like they had real stakes, but this one ironically didnt.

For the positive, everything else about the show, i loved the queen of hearts game so much i dont even know how to explain. Something about the way that the writers kept me guessing without making me feel like it was a cheap trick i think really lends to the way that the final game sums everything up so far. If he doesnt find his purpose to live, whats the point of going back to the real world. The way i couldnt tell whether the game world was real, or the hospital ward, and the fakeout alien and future stories were great as well. They really got me upset by saying it was all a vr game, so kudos to them for pulling it off. I also love how the borderland is actually a near death experience, i spent hours contemplating what it might be, and i never thought of that. For me its the perfect blend of an idea that makes perfect sense but isnt predictable, like aliens would be. Massive respect for the actors and the writers and everyone involved, cant wait to watch season 3!!!

Why do Arisu and Usagi call each other by their surnames ?

To not make this confusing, i will refer to Arisu by his first name(Ryohei), and Usagi by her first name(Yuzuha)

So Ryohei and Yuzuha are married- but they still call each other by their last names. Ryohei even calls Yuzuha by her last name even though she legally has Ryohei's last name. I read a lot of manga and I know a few things about how Japan uses honorifics, but I'm still a little confused- I feel like they should be calling each other by their first names, no?

This question is for people who have both watched the live action and read the manga, yet still prefer the live action version. What makes you like the show more?

I’ve always preferred the manga because I feel it has much more depth, and a lot of people seem to agree with that. However, there are still people who like the live action more, and I’m genuinely curious about their reasons.

Or is it simply because they were introduced to the live-action first and therefore feel more familiar and attached to it?

Why I like Alice in Borderland

Alice in Borderland is my favorite series, but the reason why it‘s my favorite is deeper than just the exciting games. The games and the excitement are also very good, but I like the more philosophical and inspiring side of the story even more. Actually, what makes it my favorite is probably how Alice in Borderland does these two things at the same time, it is extremely fun while still being philosophical and inspiring. Also Kuina is my favorite character ever. I am also transgender and I have watched many series and movies about trans people, but in all of those shows the trans characters were kind of treated like an exception and they felt like they had been created for cis people, what I mean is, their transness was treated like something to be introduced and explained, but in Alice in Borderland we don’t see Kuina‘s transness being explained. The show kind of assumes we already have basic understanding of transgender people and it tells Kuina‘s story in a more sophisticated way. Rather than explaining Kuina‘s transness and trying to spread awareness about trans people in an unnatural way like some other shows, this show is telling a realistic and inspiring story. It shows how Kuina has had hardships in her life because she was transgender, but it also shows how through those hardships she has become the strong character who is able to survive in the ruthless parallel world she finds herself trapped in. Actually, not just Kuina but most other characters give similar messages about the importance of hope and resilience but Kuina‘s story was the most compelling one for me, probably since I am also trans

BTW can you guys tell me more series like Alice in Borderland? I don’t mean this in the sense of
deadly games necessarily, but in the sense of addictively fun yet meaningful like Alice in Borderland.
