Give me a reason to continue watching…..

…season 8, 9, 10?! I am currently not watching anymore, stopped at S7E7 (Halloween episode).
I lost interest - abruptly! It’s kind of sad, because I used to love 90210. I know that many of you don’t like the following seasons. But maybe there’s still a reason to give them a try? What would you say?

I hate Val’s storyline (Kenny -.-).

Thank you!

I’ve gotten to the start of “Kelly’s cult “!!!!

This is going to be fun!!! lol. First off, MAN oh MAN is the guy in the wheelchair CREEPY AF!!!!! Makes my skin crawl!!!! Second, I don’t remember what the whole cult is all about! When I googled it it just said he is trying to get “good looking people to marry rich older people to “invest” into the cult”!!!!

Stephanie Beacham & Heather Locklear

A big shout out to Stephanie and Heather. They were both so amazing in both roles. I never thought of Sable when I saw Dylan's mother, and I never thought of Sammy Jo when I saw Amanda.

Kelly’s “burns”

Ok, it is SOOOOO ridiculous that Kelly comes away from that fire with some burns on her neck meanwhile the girl she was WITH and NEXT too suffered SEVERE burns in her ENTIRE body!!!! Give me a break!

Matt Durning has the deepest-set eyes I have ever seen

His face is so chiseled and symmetrical. He looks like a supermodel walking for Paris Fashion Week! He reminds me of Tom Welling in Smallville.

The last few seasons feel like an entirely different kinda series. They just seem so dull.

There's nothing extravagant or special about the Gang at that point unlike in the early/peak years of the show's run.

Haven’t seen season 9 in a long time…

Like I know people of high school age in tv shows are played by older actors but this woman looks older than all the woman in the cast and I’m supposed to believe she’s 17?!?!?

Hoje eu passo pano pra Susan, e vocês ?

Take Back the Night

So I definitely remember elements of this episode from back in the day, when I was first experiencing 90210 via syndicated reruns, but this was my first time watching it in almost 30 years.

I'm curious how good or bad of a job people today think they did with the debate surrounding Steve vs Laura.

I think 2 main things make it way easier for the audience to feel ok about not believing Laura; Laura is a one off character we've known for 5 minutes whereas we have spent years with Steve.

And also, star character Kelly, a girl who unfortunately has first hand experience with date rape, goes to bat for Steve.

During the past 20 years or so, society has moved to overcompensate in the other direction and believe the accuser kind of at the drop of a hat, to the point where sometimes I've seen male students sue the school over one sided hearings.

I found it interesting that Andrea was arguing the point that women do have more control over situations than the zero control some characters were describing.

I'm not sure if we are supposed to think Laura's account of the encounter with Steve is a lie, or if it is supposed to be her misremembering it because she had been drinking. Hm.

This makes me think of something I noticed with basically every case of wrongful conviction; It was always someone getting convicted of murder based on eyewitness testimony alone. There was never any physical evidence tying that person to the crime scene, or a murder weapon.

Gotta give Brandon some credit on this one...

"Take Back the Night"

When Brandon's in the gym talking to Lucinda near the end of the episode, and she makes it clear that he is expected to take DeSean's take home Sociology exam for him.

"Say you'll stop being a baby and start playing your part."

"Meaning run around behind your husband's back and write DeSean's test for him?"

"Well yeah it would make things a hell of a lot easier."

"Sorry I kinda like doing things the hard way."

"...Hey Brandon. You want some advice?"

"No."

ICE COLD. I LOVE IT. TELL THAT JEZEBEL.

How Dylan SHOULD have returned

Dylan returned and was a pathetic druggy stalker always clamming for Kelly. He degressed rather than progressed as a character. After Toni's death and his time away he should have come back stronger. Here's how he should have returned:

  1. Not at an underwhelming awkward Thanksgiving event but some kind of epic return as part of a season finale

  2. He should have been an enigma type figure who returned to provide guidance to his friends in the final seasons

  3. He should have been an inspirational figure gaining wisdom over the years. Maybe he did lots of soul searching and therapy over the 3 years. His goal was then to share this wisdom with his friends.

  4. He should NOT have pinned for Kelly but instead be the best friend he could be for her. Brandon should have been Kelly's end game and Dylan himself should have advocated for that.

  5. Basically his role would be to show up to help his friends when a problem arose and then "mysteriously vanish' until the next problem arrives. Sounds weird at first but if you think about he is sort of acting like a guardian angel. An even more weird twist would be something like a Sixth Sense twist where he appears to help but actually he's an angel and it's revealed he was dead all along! I dunno maybe that's a bit too much but at minimum he should have returned with the aim to guide characters to happiness until the season finale and then he would ride off into the sunset selflessly.

Do You think Valerie was suicidal?

After she lost her money due to trying to upset Kelly (karma) and then started issues with Kelly again through Donna and Clare, so Brandon told her that she had to leave.

Imo, she completely manipulated Brandon by leaving him that note. What a c.

What do you think? 🤔

Jennie Garth saying Luke Perry was her first love: A genuine confession or one more example of attention seeking?

I feel bad for saying this but Jennie is someone whom I take everything with a grain of salt. I never forgot Brian calling her out for not supporting Tori and then doing a podcast with Tori, implying Jennie (he never said it was Jennie but c'mon) is two-faced and often says stuff she doesn't mean.

Does anyone get the impression Gabrielle Carteris/Andrea didn't get along with the rest of the cast?

I feel like this is the Elephant in the room. I saw her interview with Steve Kmetko and when he asked her about Luke and Shannen, she was almost dismissive or didn't seem to be all that sad about it.

I totally believe the rumors about her and Shannen not getting along. It feels likev she only likes Jason and everybody else is of no interest to her.

Dylan has really turned into quite the scum bucket!

Ok it started with completely screwing over Jim and backstabbing him by cutting him outta the supposed ! And this is free Jim had been doing everything in his power to kind of be a surrogate dad to him! Then he starts banging Valerie completely stabbing Steve in the back! The way he treats Nat! I’m sure in leaving out more but man, I sure hope he starts redeeming himself soon because I don’t know how much more I can take from him! lol
